| LETTER: REMUS LUPIN TO SEVERUS SNAPE |
[18 Aug 2005|12:13pm] |
DATE: 19 September, 1978 TO: Severus Snape, 8 Outram Street FROM: Remus Lupin, Flat 3. 4 Underwood Rd
Dear Severus,
I considered resending you my letter on several occasions, each time deciding that the effort would, at best, be wasted. At worst, I suspected you knew enough hexes to make me regret receiving it, unopened, again.
I don't suppose you are any more inclined to be reasonable now than you were before. But I feel strongly that not even you ought to be mocked for your work.
That's all I wanted to say, really.
Sincerely,
R. Lupin

Date: 17 September 1978 To: Sirius Black, #300 the Green Door From: James Potter, #394 the Puce Door
BS--
Not bad all around? That's an improvement, yeah? Do you reckon woozy little Lupinhead would be peevish if I popped over later? I've things to do round his crap flat anyway, so peevish or not Prongs will be making an appearance! Rather be round peevish wolfie than peevish bird right now.
Moody asked me where you were but I said you'd an errand or summat. He didn't say much after that, so I figure you're actually in some hot water, mate.

Was Moody right pissed off I skivved the class?

PINTS ARE IN ORDER. Salty Goat, yeah? Come round half-seven and we'll tie one off.

Date: 14 September 1978 From: Frank Longbottom, 47 Linden Gardens To: Sirius Black, James Potter & Remus Lupin (and their respective homes. Can't be arsed to write them out)
Mates,
Alright. Alice is driving me up a bloody wall right now. First she says one thing and does another. Bloody birds. That's all this is.
What I could really use right now is a pint and some good company. What say you three to a night out? I don't think Alice is speaking to me at the present so my nights are free. Pick a night.

| LETTER: ALASTOR MOODY TO ALBUS DUMBLEDORE. |
[01 Jul 2005|08:45pm] |
Date: 4 September 1978 To: Albus Dumbledore, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry From: Alastor Moody, 15 Dunham Road
Hello Albus,
It's been a while since we've corresponded.
How about that.
Anyway, I am having a bloody buggering hell of a time finding those Muggleborns. Normally, I wouldn't ask nothin' of you, but this is different. I know they're in London. All the spells point to them being here, but I've been up and down the whole damn city and there's nothing! It's impossible. It's just bloody impossible.
I need your help. You know things and I need you to share this time. And don't send me some damned crytpic message. I hate it when you do that, it gives me the willies.
Fondly, Alastor

| LETTER: James Potter to George & Laura Evans |
[28 Jun 2005|09:36am] |
Date: 4 September 1978 To: George and Laura Evans, 14 Magnolia Corners, Greater Whinging, Surrey From: James Potter, #394 The Puce Door, London
Dear Mr and Mrs Evans,
I want to apologise for any hurt feelings or discomfort that I may have inadvertently caused you yesterday. I shouldn't have invited people to Petunia's wedding without making sure she would have been all right with such a thing. Although I realise this now, I want to assure you that I only did so with the best of intentions.
The distance between your daughters is very upsetting to Lily and I did something I thought would help bridge that gap. It is quite obvious that Petunia has reservations about Lily's magical abilities and I attempted to do something that would show her that those of us who have magical abilities actually are very normal individuals. It was my hope that, by meeting some of the lovely people with whom Lily and I are acquainted, Petunia would see for herself that Lily's life in the wizarding world is nothing even remotely abnormal. I accept full responsibility for what happened and you have my word that I will not repeat such behaviour in the future.
I realise that it is not much compared to the grief I may have already caused you, but enclosed you will find a cheque for what I believe to be is the total expenses paid for Petunia's wedding. Please accept this as a token of apology. I would like very much to see you both so that I may apologise in person. Perhaps we could meet for tea?
Regards,
James H Potter
