Forty-something USAian, from New England via an Ohio childhood; I lived in the Boston area until very recently, but at the moment I'm in Montreal, Canada back in the Boston area now! Married to the delightful skygiants. For my day job I'm a translator; in my free time, sometimes I write fanfic, and sometimes I write other things. Every once in a while one of them get published.

My list of interests both fannish and non- is broad and distractable, but it reliably includes such things as worldbuilding, ladies, friendship, trees, queer characters and queer people, science, excellent prose, history, subjectivity of everything, non-white people, the ocean, textiles, and the potential overlap of many of these things. I'm very bad at writing bios.

Sometimes I go wandering into my friends-of-friends list and friend people who look interesting! If you're trying to figure out why I suddenly added you, that's probably why. Everyone else is welcome to add me without explanation (saying hi is enthusiastically welcomed, but definitely not necessary) and to drop me without warning for any reason that seems necessary to them. I understand pruning reading lists. I'm also happy to warn for things or put things behind cut-tags, etc.

Anyone is welcome to comment at any point on any post of mine, and talking to other people in the comments, going off on tangents, etc is not only welcome but encouraged!
