The Nature and Forestry Administration, through the Forestry Service, has the following primary missions:
- the protection of nature, natural resources, biological diversity, and landscapes;
- the protection and sustainable management of forests subject to the forest regime;
- the protection and sustainable management of game resources.
- enforcement and policing related to nature conservation, forestry, hunting, and fishing.
It must also promote sustainable forest management in private forests and raise public awareness about nature and forests.
