So, Fitz had his surgery and came back with one incised leg shaved right up to the hip with a foofy sock left. They ended up deepening the groove in the bone, which sounded like the easiest case to fix, so I'm hoping for a good recovery. He's been so good about his captivity that it's breaking my heart--he mostly lies in his cage and looks up at me with his big round eyes and makes the occasional tiny mew. He has to be confined for eight weeks total. Do you realize how hard it is, to keep a one year old cat still? If I take my eyes off of him for too long, the next thing I know he's managed to get up on the windowsill three feet up.
I originally had a cat bed set up by the cage, because I had fantasies of Fitzwilliam and Mr. Darcy snuggling through the bars, like some kind of kitty love conjugal visit. However, Mr. Darcy's main concern is laboriously stealing Fitz's food by sticking his paw into the cage, dashing my tender dreams to pieces. Additionally, Mr. Darcy now associates hanging out with Fitz with being shut up in a room, which he hates, so he hardly gives Fitzwilliam any attention when I try to give them together time. And because Fitz isn't around to snuggle anymore, Mr. Darcy has been extra attention needy. So now I have TWO cats that need extra consolation and attention.

I am happy you are coming soon, too! I miss you so!
