Hey All,
Longtime no post! How's everyone in LJ land? I have been spending most of my online social time on FB and Twitter, so poor LJ has been neglected. But that doesn't mean I've forgotten you all. I've just been super duper busy.
Most of you I've "met" in various fandoms (Veronica Mars, Buffy, Dollhouse, etc.), so I figured I'd post about my latest projects related to that aspect of my life.
So this past September I organized the
LARGEST BUFFY MUSICAL SING ALONG IN HISTORY. It took place on September 19th. Amber Benson came in for the event (actually, she came in for a book signing and I talked her into participating in the sing along). She was awesome. She re-enacted a scene from Buffy with a fan, and even sang along to herself to the delight of everyone!
Here's a pic I took from "back stage."After that event, I was asked to coordinate the media guests for a comic book convention. I told them I'd be happy to, which was a pretty naive thing to do considering I'd only been to one (very small) comic book convention and had little knowledge about what actually took place at them (read: I didn't know what the hell I was doing). Fortunately, the convention has a team of highly qualified convention convention organizers involved who got my back. So to date, we've managed to book a pretty cool (IMO) line-up of celebs for this con. Here's the
line-up. All my favorite fandoms are represented: Veronica Mars (Jason Dohring & Francis Capra), Buffy (Nick Brendon), Heroes (Brea Grant & Francis Capra) and Dollhouse (Dichen Lachman). We have a few more guests that we haven't announced yet, but I promise they are pretty cool ones too. So, if any of you want to come to Comicpalooza and meet these fan-faves, be sure to let me know. I'd love to meet you in person.
