I just noticed that "Son Volt Live/Okemah ..." is set to start at 5:35 central time on HDnet. They rerun things fairly regularly as well--

a friend of mine made this video; it's a Golden Smog song, but the theme is an obsessed fan out to seek revenge on the man (Jay Farrar) he feels is responsible for the breakup of Uncle Tupelo. He did a great job on this, and no - I'm fairly certain he's mentally stable. He just makes really good videos. Usually they're just hilarious (like the Fox News Jay Farrar conspiracy), but this one is just creepy and dark.

Son Volt crushed it in Austin on Friday night at Stubb’s. It was hotter than hell and super-muggy but the show was one of the best I’ve ever seen.

Last night in Houston was stunningly good. They played The Continental Club and it was packed tight. Excellent show.

Here's what I love about Jay's music ...
it's not overproduced, cleaned up or in any way perfect.
it's pure and simple, imperfect and believable.
it makes me feel voyeuristic - like I'm not supposed to hear it.
perfection.

Son Volt is coming to San Francisco. Magnolia Electric Co is opening for them. That should be a great show. Is anyone planning on going?

This is the most gorgeous thing I've heard in a long time.

It's essentially Gob Iron (I guess) but it's Jay Farrar playing a Dylan tribute here recently ... He's accompanied by Anders Parker and Mark Spencer.

I cannot stop listening to this song.
