Spring Greens

BERJAYA

Government House is the residence of the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia - the Queen's representative in our province. The house is open for tours just one Saturday per month, or by special request.

But the grounds are open every day (almost) from sunrise to sunset. Last Monday we strolled through the gardens. There is much to admire at this time of year - rhododendrons, camas lilies, fawn lilies, daffodils and tulips.

What really caught my eye was spring green. It's such a fresh color, new to the world and full of eager brightness and vigor. Unfurling ferns and emerging leaves are the perfect foil for spring blossoms.

These magnificent tulips caught my eye, too. So rich looking, don't you think?

Lorrie, I love the variety of greens that appear at this time of year some are citrusy, some acidic and some could even be neon, they're so bright!
    Have a blooming wonderful week.

I loved strolling through the garden in Victoria, so lush and green. I actually have tulips just like that in my garden, hoping they grow again this year.

      Hi again...two down...trying again.

Your walk through the garden has me wondering when I might be able to do the same locally. My best guess is four to six weeks. We'll see! (I really hope that I am wrong.)

Spring green is what my eye longs for most.

Oh I love it all. We are so lucky to live in such a green area, and the tulips are wonderful. I find one thing lacking in Bellingham - pretty gardens to stroll through, I wonder why that is. There is a rose garden by one of our local parks, but it is simply an open area with rows of rose bushes - very pretty - but not the kind of park to wander through and sit and enjoy. You are fortunate th have such pretty gardens nearby.

I love wandering through those gardens. It is amazing that they have any tulips left after the deer have been grazing and nibbling...such pretty photos. Your Monday walk looks full of beauty.

What beautiful pictures, Lorrie! I love the delicate blue flowers and the showy tulips. I agree with you about spring greens. My husband and I have commented that the new green leaves on the trees always look so soft, almost fuzzy, and the green is almost a chartreuse. I know everyone is so glad to see spring this year. :)

Thank you for your visits and comments. I'm about to get caught up on visits after my two-week absence from blogging. I enjoyed your post and hope you have a wonderful day!

    Hugs,

Beautiful photos what a lovely place! The title of your post caught my eye...and I noticed another post somehwere last week called "Fifty Shades of Green". I have a half-written post that I have had in my dashboard...SINCE LAST SPRING...called "The Greens of Spring". I have collected more photos this spring but yet it is still unpublished....there are just SO MANY shades of green in the spring, aren't there? If I do happen get this post together and published, I hope you don't think I was copying you...lol!

Shades of green are a welcome sight after the monotone whites of winter. Can't wait for tulips to bloom here, there are so many colour varieties.

Here's to the greening of the springtime landscape - it truly warms the heart doesn't it Lorrie.
The ferns are so pretty - I've just never had any luck growing them in the ground - just in hanging baskets for the Summer months.

    Hugs- Mary

Lorrie, you have brightened my day with your gorgeous spring greens, so pretty are they, among they, amid the bold and beautiful blossoms, not minding that most people consider them second fiddle to their flowering leads.
