I was born in Manama, Bahrain, and now live in Colombo, Sri Lanka. I have been an active contributor to Wikimedia projects since 2008, with a focus on renewable energy, infrastructure, and Sri Lankan geography—reflecting my interests in solar and wind power, dams, rivers, and environmental documentation. Much of my work on Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons centres around these topics. Beyond editing articles, I am deeply involved in technical and community work. I develop and maintain Wikidata-driven infoboxes, navigation templates, and other tools, including being the main contributor to the Infobox Power Station. I am an administrator on both the English Wikipedia (since 2016) and Wikimedia Commons (since 2011), where I support content moderation, policy enforcement, and community workflows. I also created Commons’ Criteria for Speedy Deletion (CSD) to improve administrative efficiency. I founded and lead the Wikimedia Community User Group Sri Lanka (UG-LK), working across Sri Lanka’s three main language groups to support outreach, organise photowalks, run Wiki Loves Earth contests, and promote Wikimedia participation nationwide.
