Digimon Savers

Hi, I'm Jules. I'm new to the community, and new to Digimon Savers. I watched a bit of the subs, when they came out, but I was in middle school when it came out, and I never finished it :( I started watching Savers, and I fell in love. To the person who is ranting about how Xros Wars II is more appreciated than Savers, I COMPLETELY agree with you! Savers was my first step up from the children's centered Digimon series that came before.  I think Savers was actually my favorite, because it was more violent than the other series. (first ball kick in Digimon...EVER) I loved how Masaru, or Marcus, was a bit of a thug, but  he cared about Agumon so much. :) I cant wait to start up Savers again! I know enough Japanese that I could watch some RAWS and pick out bits and pieces, but I'm not fluent, I carry a dictionary around to practice my Japanese.
So, here comes a newbie question, Where can I get RAWs, to watch and use for AMVs? Thanks! sorry if this is long. :)

So yeah, i'm arguing about the world's unfairness to Savers in a forum (blaming everything they don't like to Savers, even if it's not Savers' fault). And blahblahblah, those blamer ended up to bring things such as weak character development Savers has, Masaru-tachi being one dimensional, poor characterization, etc.They even said that Savers is the worst compared to all of its prequel on those subject.

I personally don't care things like that, what i enjoy from Savers (or even Digimon) isn't that kind of thing but the fight, the music, NEW ARTSTYLE, the Digimon, the plot, Masaru, the humor, etc. I believe that not every artwork regarding story need all those 3 to be considered good, there's plenty of other reason why some artwork is considered good or why someone like something.

IMHO, all of those 3 things are just a matter of opinion, since it depend from a person's point of view. I've seen some people's what have to said about Savers' CharDev, some said it's good, some said it's standard, most said it's bad. One even said only Ikuto and Falcomon that has been developed, of course that's coming from one who hated Savers to death (Machinistmon, if any of you remember him from wtw). One even disagree that when almost all people think that Gaomon's characterization is just a mindless robot, she thinks that Gaomon isn't like that. With those example, i can say that characterization and character development is just like opinion, it differ between people to people and it depend on a person's point of view.        

So finally to the point, do you think Savers has weak CharDev compared to Adventure, 02, Tamers and Frontier? Do you think Savers has weak characterization?Do you think Masaru-tachi is one dimensional? How would you describe them all?

Sorry if this post is mostly will be all about rant, but i have to post so that i can feel better. Oh and yeah i'm a newbie here and i made livejournal account just so i can post this and because i'm a die hard Savers fan.

About 5 years ago when Savers was still fresh and on air, while it's undeniable that there's still some people that hated it  but Savers was well-known and quite favored. Of course there's also quite many people that consider Savers as their favorite Digimon series, heck even some of them already declared that Savers is the best as early as episode 25!

But... nowadays... what we can only find in most Digimon forum (or any other forum that asked about Digimon) is absolutely negative opinion for Savers, and 90% for no reasons or stupid reasons... heck even i found more and more people actually prefer Xros Wars than Savers. Of course, don't ask about 02, it definitely got too much love than what its worth for compared to underrated Savers.

What's wrong world? Why you turn almost 180 degrees in about 4 years?

And i'll start about the "unfair" part from the title. These are:

1. Ever notice that while still younger, Xros Wars definitely has a lot more fanarts and doujinshi compared to Savers? Yeah, i know that Nene is pretty and all, Kiriha is a cool lonewolf (which i actually hated because: a. his first season clothing is a ripoff of Touma H. Norstein, why i don't like it? it's okay if Touma was like the 2nd or 3rd or 4th series character and Kiriha is a 6th character or Kiriha is 7th or 8th series character while Touma is still the same 5th series character, but Touma is from 5th series and Kiriha is from 6th series! it's boring to see similar design in a series after a series. b. not enough copying Touma, he then copying 02's Yamato in second season, why can't he be original? c. You think that he's finally not a Touma very-look-alike in second season? the writers said: Challenge Accepted! they gave him a backstory similar to Touma! what with he has some kind of problem with his dad, her dead mother and he was a rich family, not to mention that his younger-self totally scream younger Touma. d. "Let's cooperate Taiki!" 1 episode later... " Now i'm going with myself, you're my enemy now!", 1 episode later "Let's cooperate again Taiki!", pretty much he suffer from easy mood-swing), the mechaic Digimons are cool etc. Okay i do understand if more people like the lighter feeling from Adventure, Frontier and Xros Wars and the old artstyle, but let me go to the topic of fairness.
Most of the times, Savers character got drawn in a fanfic because.. just for the sake of presenting all leaders / lonewolves / lead females, other than that? You need to wait for 10 Adventure stuffs, 7 Tamers stuffs, 6 02 Stuffs, 4 XW stuffs, and then 3 Frontier to find just a single Savers stuff, or maybe the ratio can be worse than that. Also in most (if not all) crossover fanarts that would include EVERY main human cast from every series, Adventure, 02, Frontier and Xros Wars (and later YH) obviously would have all the childs there, but as for Tamers either it would be only the trio + Ryo or they would do all the side character including Kenta, Hirokazu, Juri, and even Suzie! While for Savers 90% of the times it'll be only the main 4, at most they would add Chika but without her Piyomon! Satsuma, Yushima, Miki and Megumi are completely forgotten! Seeing Suguru in that kind of picture would be a dream within a dream! I mean seriously, is the awesome, badass and actually do-more adults in Savers that easily forgotten and not important enough to the likes of comic relief Hirokazu and Kenta? WTF... Just WTF....

2. Xros Wars. First episode of Xros Wars show some Digimon from earlier season and of course both Frontier and Savers only got one representative, for Savers it was Gaomon. Most of the Digimon (from Adventure through Tamers) that appeared on silhouette during that episode turned out to be a digimemory later. But Frontier and Savers? Nope.... it was nice of them though still ACTUALLY REMEMBER Agnimon and make a digimelody for him, but Gaomon? NEVAH!

3. But wait.. think XW has done trolling Savers fans yet? nope, here we go! In Xros Wars third season, at some point in Young Hunters OP they showed some Savers Digimon as background (Lalamon, Kudamon, Kamemon, Falcomon, maybe PawnChessmonW/B, and... Gaomon again), but then what we got? We don't get to see Gaomon and his forms again! so much surprise! In episode 78 those guys and gals appeared:
Adventure: Taichi-partner and Yamato-MetalGarurumon moving in action while Joe-Gomamon half in action, Sora-Birdramon, Mimi-partner appeared already 2 episodes prior that episode, and Tentomon (only lack Koushiro)
Adventure02 : Daisuke-partner and Ken-Stingmon moving in action, while Iori-Ankylomon, Miyako-Ankylomon and Angemon & Angewomon appeared in silhouette (not all humans but still all 6 Digimons)
Tamers: Takato-partner and Grani (either he's a zombie or he was taken from different time line or the writers completely ignore the canon) moving in action, while SaintGalgomon, Justimon, Beelzebumon with his Behemoth... and Sakuyamon apppeared in silhouette (not all characters, but pretty much the main one, the "sixth ranger" and even the anti hero is there)
Frontier: Takuya and forms doing some action while Chakmon only talking for a brief moment, while MagnaGarurumon and Blitzmon was seen silhouetted, one could say that Izumi (and Kouichi perhaps?) was one of the spheres that form Susanoomon
Savers: "Hey guys! Because this series leader got the honor to appear 11 episodes earlier than the other leaders except the first one (because it's an obligatory to show the first one) and also he got honor to appear in some actions with Taichi 2 episodes before the rest showed up, we gladly to inform you that we'll only make Masaru-partner and Ikuto-Ravemon the only representative for this series! What? Touma? Yoshino? Who's that? I don't even know such a name exist in Digimon history haha!"
C'mon, is it really hard to draw a silhouetted MirageGaogamon and Rosemon? And while others use their strongest form available to them, why don't Ikuto use Ravemon Burst Mode?
Not to mention that doesn't hire back the seiyuu for Savers Agumon while 2 episodes age he voiced it, they colored Agumon's Burst Mode wrong, doesn't show how Agumon evolved to ShineGreymon and ShineGreymon got the least amount of screen-time while WarGreymon who also has appeared 2 episodes before that got more screen-time, the not done in 3D ShineGreymon Burst Mode's flames (heck they even switched the color of wings and shield-sword wrong...), not using his known signature technique, and lastly making both ShineGreymonBM and Susanoomon seems inferior to ImperialdramonFM while obviously both are far stronger than him.

4. Still disappointed with crappy YH's fanservice? Well Xros Wars manga is here to worsen you day! In last chapter of XW Manga they had to show all the Adventure and 02 Digimons evolving, the main trios for Tamers as well, and Fairymon to Shutumon. But Savers? No, because fu*k Savers. The closest thing they can do is to show a Lilamon who may or may not be evolved from SunFlowmon.
What's with this XW hatred for Savers? Is it because Touma and Yoshino appeared as a general in Super Digica Taisen? But why then Angewomon and Sora-partner still be added on XW:YH episode 78? Of of course because it's an obligatory to add first and second series characters.

5. Burst Mode is very underestimated. I mean 95% of people always says that Dukemon beat ShineGreymonBM while someone that actually watched it should know that Dukemon are attacking from above while ShineGreymonBM doesn't even know that he's being attacked by Dukemon because he's fighting Craniummon! Heck there's even a silly opinion as silly as "it take 2 Burst Modes to kill Duftmon!" while it's clear that that battle was an overkill, just a Burst Mode should be able to curbstomp Duftmon... Sure Burst Modes aren't the strongest.. but they are really too underrated.

6. I know this material i'm ranting isn't canon. But in Digimon Masters Online (both Korean and Global), a MMO that was based from Savers is pretty unfair to 4 main Savers Digimon! Those unfairness are:
a. MachGaogamon doesn't even learn Gaoga Tornado, and his Winnning Knuckle was just like a mere punch, not a spinning punch being boosted up by a rocket on his back.
b. ShineGreymon only has Glorious Burst, Shining Blast is substituted by Shine Hammer, even they abandon their idea to work on GeoGrey Sword.
c. Ravemon don't have Blast Wing, Rosemon only use Rose Rapier and Ivy Hug (which is only used like twice in the series?) and totally forgot Forbidden Temptation where they actually can give a Digimon 3 skills that time.
d. Their strongest skills appears to be rather weak and of course by newbie that doesn'r know the depth of this game yet, make it the reason why the Savers ultimates (or known as starter) isn't a favorite option to play with.
e. The Burst Modes..... actually are weaker than some ultimates! Heck, even MirageGaogamon is a better option to use rather than his own BM, that's just so wrong in many aspect. And i was thinking that only some Digimon like main characters from previous series would get Ultimate 2 level Digimon, i was completely wrong, actually they're giving any ultimate an ultimate 2 even though those ultimate 2 they given isn't really an ultimate 2! And why did i complain about this? Because apparently any of those Ultimate 2 are better than any Burst Modes! That's like saying "Hurr durr Burst Mode is complete trash, the series they were originate from is a trash and completely forgettable too". Not to mention that they didn't bother to make Digivice Burst for the Burst Modes.....


On a sidde note after i check all Digimon series on this site http://whatdoestheinternetthink.net/?query=digimon+savers turned out that Savers is really the most hated Dgimon series in the internet, even more than Frontier and XW (which has only less than 55^ negatives while Savers has over 80% of negatives), and i won't doubt this site because i've seen all the hatred for Savers on the net (heck, was just browsing a Digimon savers tagged tumblr a while ago, and when it come to 30 days Digimon challenge ALL PEOPLE said their least favorite is Savers.




Ughh... maybe, maybe it's true that Digimon Savers is really the worst series of Digimon and it doesn't even have the right to be called Digimon, well... because fu*k you! Savers was too awesome to be an addition to this franchise called Digimon! Savers is an awesome anime! Not a good or bad Digimon series! HAHAHA!
