Shameful admission of the day: laughable as I find the concept of a Snuggie (For people too stupid to work a blanket!), it is so damn cold here at work that I catch myself wishing I had one.
Of course, I am already in the habit of wearing my scarf and gloves at my desk to keep warm, so it's really just a little further down a slippery slope. *shivers*
New Lost tonight! My friends Sarah and Amy are coming over to watch, which I suppose means I ought to make at least a desultory effort at cleaning the apartment. Or at least move the heap of knitting supplies off the couch. |

Today, I plan to celebrate by taking myself to Sweet Life for delicious cake. The giant Penthouse let's-celebrate-with-booze party is this weekend. :D
I got sucked into an It's Me Or the Dog marathon on Saturday night. It's really quite fascinating watching ridiculously out-of-control dogs cower at Victoria's feet after she's been in the room all of five minutes. |

So, what did y'all do this weekend? I watched tennis! And... no, that's all I did. Really. It was on CBS from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, and then on USA from 4:00 pm to whenever they were done for the day (usually around 10:00), sooooo yeah. :D :D
And now I'm listening to radio commentary for the matches currently going on, which is a bit weird, because it's a lot of "Djokovic, with a backhand, and Robredo with the forehand!" and I am a terrible visualizer. (Though when Novak would miss a shot and they described him as looking "glum" I knew exactly what they meant, hee.)
Later tonight: OLD 97'S WOOOOOOOOOOO! I convinced a couple of guys from work that they wanted to come, too, so that should be fun. The WOW Hall is usually ridiculously hot, but it's really pretty mild today, so I'm looking forward to not dying of heatstroke. And, Rhett. Definitely looking forward to Rhett. *g* |

Incredibly bizarre experience #352:
Watching the dubbed version of Hero - the Spanish dub. It's such a visual movie that you forget about it until the scene cuts back to the palace and the Emperor says something like, "Que talento tienes." Muchas gracias, Telemundo.

I have been greatly enjoying watching Olympic tennis online this week. (If slightly miffed that it's mostly been on in the wee hours of the morning, so I still can't really see it live.) I'm really digging the chance to watch doubles matches - you get so used to the players being all alone on the court that it's kind of bizarre to see them, like, talking. To other people.
For instance! I am utterly charmed by the pairing of Roger Federer & Stanislas Wawrinka. Federer is his usual calm and stoic ( I ARE SERIOUS ROGERCollapse ) self, and then along comes Wawrinka, all *bounce bounce bounce* as he gets ready to play. When they have their little team conferences between points they hold their hands up near their mouths, in case the other team are lip-readers, I guess, and chat in French during breaks and every now and then Stanislas says something that gets Roger to smile during a match and I go "D'awwww!"

Item the second: from Comic-Con, Avatar fans present West Side Story in Two Minutes; I nearly fall out of my chair laughing. (I was in the pit orchestra for a production of WSS in high school, man do I wish we could have done this version. Heeeeee.)
