Hey lollis, kodanas and whomever else may be in the house, I'm looking for scans of Mitsukazu Mihara's art. Any and all would be appreciated with the exception of Doll Vol. 1. I try to keep these types of posts to a minimum, but an extensive internet search has lead me nowhere and I'm just DYING to see more of her work. I'm desperate here! Take pity! Thanks in advance, Alexis

My latest is a literal interprutation of my fiances name. Pualani means 'Flower from heaven' and I wanted not only to honour my deep feelings for her and her beauty, but also to portray her as a powerful lunar elemental, who like that evening star, is a guide and hold over my lifes blood. You can bid on 'Skyflower' from the link below:

3:35 pm - Halloween Jack (x-posted)

Greetings! Just wanted to share my newest Halloween painting. He's up for auction and I'll be offering him as a print in my eBay store for $7 soon. http://stores.ebay.com/davidgoughart Each year in Ireland, on All Hallows Eve,a tale that has been whispered through generations, is told of a man named Jack. Banished from both heaven and hell, his plight is to wander as an immortal for all eternity. Here, Jack stoops on a graveyard tomb, beneath a withering oak, shedding bitter tears like fallen leaves, for the parody his existence has become, and for loves lost through the centuries.

I've called it 'The Gods forgot they made me' and it was a nice oppurtunity to paint on a circular canvas, though scanning and piecing it together was possibly the biggest head trip I've had since trigonomotry. My fiance la_lune says Jack looks a little like me-I guess the weathered look is me, though thankfully my hair hasn't turned white just yet.

Hello I've a brand new Urban Fairie painting to show you, called 'Purgatory' and you can bid on this piece from $20 until 8:45, Tuesday 17th August:

If you've ever walked on the subway or the underpass, you will understand how scary they can be. When I was a child particularly, they were terrifying places, urbane, vandalised, partially shadowed and usually smelling of three day old diapers. And the traffic rumbling overhead was like the sound of the heavens cracking open. Still, as dark as this new piece is however, there is a deliverance in there, if you want to find it.

Here is the new piece from the Urban Faerie series. 'Requiem' is an elemental both nostalgic and mournfull, contemplative of the past, of friends lost, and yet sad for the time that eludes her. It is of course an illusion, the time she clings to, is both ravaged, weathered and war torn, a totem, brooded over by dark spectres, and yet with its passing, it has grown indelibly rose-tinted, a paragon of a moment of innocence, which is what in fact she mourns.

You can bid on the auction from the following link:

Hi my name is David Gough. I stumbled accross your art community here and I thought I'd share my art with you. I paint dark fantasy, contemporary urban fairies, sea nymphs, monsters and dreams. My website is here for anyone that is interested. David Gough Art If you sign up for my newsletter your name will be added to my monthly draw. The winners get either a free print or a comission! My latest piece explores a strange set of emotions I guess, particularly the emotions expressed by the ebbs and flows of depression, and the heady intoxication of lust. Its called ( 'Dream orphans 2,Devolutions'Collapse ) It's currently for sale right now. You can find the auction here: David Gough's eBay Auctions

2:13 pm - Dark Band Seeks Keyboardist and Drummer
|

Hi, we're a NYC/North Jersey based band that can best be described as cross between deathrock, goth, and black metal (think Samhain mixed with Slayer with heavy keyboards). We're looking for a temp keyboardist (our keyboardist is going off to amsterdam for a while to be with family/friends, but you will have an option to become a full-time member if we really like you), and a full-time drummer, with double bass, preferred. Either sex. We are looking for people talented, unusual, energetic, not easily offended, and, most of all, dedicated. If you think you fit this description or you know someone who it fits, e-mail us immediately. We're looking to play out again and soon...

12:50 pm - some personal begging about a kitten...
|

i just re-checked the humane society's website, and it's 145$ to adopt a kitten, not 125$ like i thought (that's for cats). ouch! i just sent them an email asking about alternative payment options (ie., credit card, installments etc.) since 145$ is a bit out of my range right now, seeing as i have to buy all the stuff for the kitty first (although, my wonderful bf volunteered to help me out with the expensive stuff) it's still going to leave me very lean in the cash dept. i'd still have enough for next months' rent and stuff after my next paycheque, but then i also have 251$ in loan payments coming out of my account as well, so i'm actually paying almost 700$ every month. so i could live, i just couldn't eat much :^/ and i'm trying desperately not to fall back on the evil that is "credit card".
*start sappy pleading/begging here*
if anyone would like to help me get my little kitty, and make me the happiest girl in ottawa, whatever you feel like sparing would be greatly appreciated by me and the humane society :)
***EDIT: awesome people who have contributed so far to my Happy Kitten Fund: deense
