 | 02:33 pm - Party Dinner Flier X Posted For all of us who aren't going to be in one of the more exciting Mardi Gras destinations this Monday night... come to my house for free food and maybe a bit of relaxed partying as well. There will be lots o' food, but if you'd like to bring something, please do. I'm not sure how many people to expect so it's Always better to have more than not enough. All of the food provided by the house will be vegan (I think) so bring any veggie-friendly friends along as well. (If you bring food, it doesn't have to be vegan, but there will be a lot of vegetarians, I believe). Bring beer or wine or spirits if it pleases you.
When: 7 or 8ish until whenever (we have guest space throughout the house if needed)
Where: 604 Bay St Go down Hardy toward downtown. Take a Right on Main St. Go over railroad tracks (it now becomes Bay st.). My house is 604. It'll be on your Left. It's best to go to the end of the road, make a U turn and park at the convalescent home at the corner.
Bring whatever you think will be cool. Friends, CDs, food, drink, whatever.

 | 11:35 pm - Mississippi Activist Conference Please Post Everywhere! Saturday, February 19th, 2005 10 AM - 6 PM Less Talk----More Action An in-depth, all day conference designed for activists in the State of Mississippi! It does not matter what issues you are working on...what matters is that we get together and share our information and resources. Let's prepare a plan of action for 2005. Our work and commitment to social transformation is needed more than ever in Mississippi! Camp Sister Spirit will provide a big meal for participants. We are asking for folks to please donate pet food to our animal rescue project and/or to bring food for our emergency food pantry. If you cannot afford to do that, it is ok...WE WANT YOU TO BE HERE! We will be discussing the struggles of our work, access to funding, media, volunteers, etc... A round table "pass the rattle" session will be held that evening...if you are having problems within your group, mediation could be the answer. We are too small of a minority in Mississippi to let in-fighting tear us apart. Veteran Mississippi Civil Rights Activists will be here to share their wealth of knowledge with us. Come prepared as we want to know about your work. Lets share our needs and wants. Together we can move mountains! Camp Sister Spirit is living, breathing proof. Contacts: Andie Gibbs@ witchfulthinkin3@aol.com 601-344-1411 or Tracey Jones @ greenfaery@msn.com 601-583-1918 Please send this to any groups who might be interested. Thanks. Pray for the dead and fight like hell for the living.-----Mother Jones

| 12:24 am - the coffee house is closed for business e spiritus/the cubbyhole coffee house is officially closed.
people don't like coming anymore. we don't like working it. it was a good seven years, but it was time to stop. we were seriously beating a dead horse with that one there folks.
but there's inventory [coffee's, tea's, gifts] that we have left and some furniture that we'll be selling at our next garage sale. it should be soon, so i'll keep people posted, incase anybody wants fancy tea and whole bean coffee, incense, tables, chairs, among other things.
thanks to all who were patrons for so long, making our little venture worthwhile. Current Mood: sleepy
