I had got this funny one from Martha's blog the other day:
Marie of The English Kitchen posted this Sugar Plum recipe. Have you ever made them? I have saved it to try at some point. There is no baking it seems, just a food processor would be handy.
I was reading this powerful NY Times article featuring our new Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Here is an excerpt from a debate he had with then prime minister Stephen Harper:

I was reading this powerful NY Times article featuring our new Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Here is an excerpt from a debate he had with then prime minister Stephen Harper:
‘‘Why would we not revoke the citizenship of people convicted of terrorist offenses against this country?’’ Harper asked Trudeau incredulously.
‘‘A Canadian is a Canadian is a Canadian,’’ Trudeau replied defiantly. ‘‘And you devalue the citizenship of every Canadian in this place and in this country when you break down and make it conditional for anyone.’’
Oh wow, is all I have to say.

I have never tried sugar plums, sounds like a fun recipe. Have a lovely day, hugs, Valerie
wow, for sure, I hadn't heard this,,
I went to check out the sugar plums, something I've never had, and they look delicious. It has been pinned!
I also read the article about Justin Trudeau. Very well written. We needed this change in Canada. This young man will do good things.
While Harper does have a point, but I do side more with Justin on matters like that. Just like freedom of speech, even the worst people in the world still deserve basic human rights like citizenship of their own country.
Just like how I don't support the death penalty. Do some people deserve it? Yes, but the side of justice should not act like criminals. And people who are against "big government" like American Republicans claim they are shouldn't really think the government has the right to end anyone's life.
I haven't tried sugar plums. Trudeau raises a good point but unfortunately these things are rarely as black and white as that.
Well said Adam
That may be why I don't like politics, never simple.
Sorry, I agree with Harper. A terrorist is a terrorist is a terrorist.
What a cute image! I've only heard about sugar plums from a song, looks yummy!
We're dealing with this same issue here...it's hard to identify terrorists, though. They often don't make themselves known until it's too late.
Love the cartoon image.
