Creative Tuesdays - News

It's time for Creative Tuesdays, thanks to MMm for hosting! The theme this week is 'News'. I was inspired by a photo on Twitter that my sister found, it was taken during the Sandy hurricane when it hit NY, New Jersey. It's watercolour pencils on cardstock (4.5" x 6.5").  After a couple of years sketching these art co-ops, I seem to do these very quickly now.  Practice makes perfect I guess!

Please visit the other talented participants to see what 'news' inspired them!

You did the porch very well, I can just see how easy it was for you, but only one with the skill can do it.

A fantastic sketch, Christine!
Sure it is a piece of cake for you to pencil this, but it will take me years to do one line :-)

Very good job. I saw a scene similar in the Newspaper. You have captured a piece of news so well. Still praying for those people who are still out of power and struggling every day.

A really contemporary sketch and so elegantly done. A sad piece of news but a great sketch.

Yes, seriously, Christine, can you imagine how long this might have taken you before? I so love the process and seeing where you are going too with your art. It is becoming more and more designery where you are listing the basics and letting the negative space and positioning be as much a part of the image. I really like the porch spindles here and the clean lines. Nice job! :) Ty.

this is really good. I actually saw that twitter photo too. Funny thing, is that I sent it to a bunch of friends and told a couple other people about it as well, only to find out on the news that the shark was photoshopped. Great rendition.
