Hi, my names Lizzie and i'm 23, living in Leeds, England. I won't do a general introduction because i have a user info for that :D
I first found Simon Clark browsing the books in waterstones looking for something new when "Vampyrrhic Rites" caught my eye, i guessed it was a sequel but that didn't put me off from buying it. I was hooked from the beginning and had no problems following the storyline. It wasn't till i read "King Blood" that i was well and truely converted though. Not only do i love reading apocalyptic type books but it was and added bonus that a large part was set in and around Leeds. The funniest part was when Leeds City square was mentioned in the book i was sat in the city square at the time of reading it. :-)
Apart from the two books above i have only read "Darker" and currently reading "Nailed by the Heart". I am trying to get my hands on "Blood Crazy" which is proving a tad difficult but i like a challenge. :-)
So thats me and my Simon Clark fandom bit, but if anyone wants to know anything from me then feel free to ask. :-)

A collection of short stories that showcase the astonishing imagination of Simon Clark. These are tales that journey into places unseen, where everyday objects can draw a cold finger of fear down the spine. Here, there are no barriers. A man might step out of his back door to find his garden had been replaced by primordial forest. Or track how the two detectives investigating a brutal murder tackle their case in a surprisingly unorthodox way. In the award winning Goblin City Lights, we follow Jack Constantine as he learns about another London hidden from everyday view: one with its own teeming population hell-bent on trapping the unwary. And visit the Electra Suite, a trio of nerve-twisting stories that have fed on the lifeblood of Simon Clark's bestselling novel, Vampyrrhic. Welcome one and all. This is Hotel Midnight – where every room has a view to die for.

Present day post apocalyptic America sets the scene for this truely stunning rapid raft ride of a story. Following the life of GREG, a stranger that showed up in a tiny back water community already pushed to the limits of terror by the mind shattering events that happen every day, we witness the cruel nature of mankind when pushed to unthinkable limits.. a town on the verge of tearing itself apart.. only then does the true story and horror unfold...

The Luxor Dance Hall has seen a lot over the past hundred years. From Vaudeville, through the big bands and up to the hottest rock acts, the Luxor had them all. It's closed now, a boarded-up relic, standing alone in a run down industrial part of town. But the old dance hall isn't empty. A hideous presence lives there, a monstrous evil that has the ability to invade people's fantasies and nightmares ... and bring them to life. Three strangers will soon learn the extent of the dance hall's power. As their lives become more and more entangled in its inescapable web, they will come to see that what haunts the Luxor is far worse than any ghost.

Welcome to
clarks_novels. I started this community having noticed there was no place on LJ devoted to this amazing horror writer. I have been a fan since I first read King Blood and have tried to buy everything he has written.
I hope to bring this community to life and that many other fans will join and share how Simon Clark has made an impression on you.
