If you need/can offer a ride please see the thread on the forum! We currently have a couple of CofC students who are looking for a ride up to the write-in tonight, as well as a CSU student.
The first "Writer's Choice" weekly contest is up at the forum!
There are also three Mini write-ins scheduled tomorrow - one for N Chuck/Goose Creek, one for West Ashley, and one for Downtown/CofC! Check out the forum calendar for times and locations.

All my NaNo friends will appreciate this. It is hilarious: http://doycetesterman.com/index.php/2009/10/nanowrimo-this-is-how-i-get-it-done/
(It's also got some naughty language - you have been warned)
But it's a great way to do NaNo - in small doses. That's why I provide everyone who comes to an event with sticky notes - small doses. You can write about 100 words on a sticky (write small!), and you can carry them in your pocket or purse. Whenever you get an idea, no matter where you are, whip out those stickies and write your novel 100 words at a time if you have to. That's only 17 stickies a day.
Don't let NaNo overwhelm you. It's always just one word at a time, same as writing any other book.

Even though I can't participate this year (stupid school schedule), I'm supporting all the local WriMos by putting up a display at the Mt. Pleasant Regional Library. Also, table and study carrel space is usually available after 6 p.m. Monday-Thursday when the place isn't so busy if you'd like a place to write.
Hopefully next year I can offer up space for a write-in, but we'll discuss that when next year comes along.
In the meantime, swing by, take a look at the display (which will go up on November 2), and sit down to write (but we are busy and noisy during the day just to warn you).

I just found out about this on the main NaNo page (like I've said before, I like to watch the Fund-O-Meter go up!) and I just tried it out. It's a search engine powered by Yahoo (I prefer Yahoo to Google myself, so this works for me) but for every search you do they give a small amount of money to your selected group.
So if you have to search for some info for your novel this week (or anytime in November), go to http://www.goodsearch.com/ select "Office of Letters and Light (OLL)" as your group, and search away! The NaNo staff is trying to raise $1,000 in November through this method, and the best part is it doesn't require any extra time or money on your part! I've already bookmarked it.
Tell your co-workers, friends, family, students, ect to help out! Let's be the most awesome fund-raisingest region in NaNo!

You can either leave a note here if you are going, or go straight to the forum post and RSVP there.
