Hi! I’m Betty, and this is my husband, Dan. We are retired folks who live in St. Charles, Missouri. We love to travel in our travel trailer. I write this blog, “ChambersontheRoad.com” to document our travels and to provide ideas and encouragement to others. I also write posts about owning a travel trailer which I hope is helpful to current and prospective RV owners.
I’ve written, “RVing with Bikes” which is available as an ebook. Dan and I love to ride our e-bikes, especially when we are camping. This book is a guide to campgrounds with full and partial hook ups with easy access to paved bike trails.
Dan and I are volunteers. We’ve volunteered two seasons (November-April 1) at Big Cypress National Preserve. We’ve also volunteered at LBJ National Historical Park for two months in Fall of 2024. We plan to volunteer again at LBJ National Historical Park in Fall 2025 followed by volunteering in Big Cypress National Preserve for the 25-26 season. We hope to continue volunteering for our national treasures.
In addition to traveling, riding our e-bikes, and volunteering we like to walk, read, and play Scrabble. I love to write. Some of my blog posts are my attempt at humor, and those are the most fun for me. You can find these posts under “Humor” at the top of the blog page.
I hope you will come along on our journeys and that you will enjoy reading my blog. I hope you find it uplifting, and that it gives you a few smiles and maybe even an idea or two. Comments are very much appreciated, and I will respond to all. Thank you for reading, and Happy Travels!

Nice to chronicle our retirement journeys!

I dream of retirement but still have at least 5-10 years at the coal face – I’m jealous but looking forward to hearing about your travels! 🙂

I had to look up what “at the coal face” meant. 🙂 Maybe you are British? In any case, your time will come. Don’t wish your life away, but you can do things to get ready for when you do retire. I appreciate your enthusiasm for hearing about our travels. And I wish you much happiness in every day. Thanks for reading and your comment!

Thank you for the follow, Betty. I’m a few years ahead of you but have greatly enjoyed retirement and traveling (much more before CoVid). I’d love to tail along behind your RV.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. I had hoped at one time, for your kind of travel. It wasn’t in the cards so I do the best I can. I do like to read about other’s adventures though. Keep doing it because life changes in the blink of an eye. No time to waste.

I am working on my post about Joanie’s. Would you be so kind as to describe the salsa that came with the fry bread. It was so good, but I don’t recall what all was in it. My email is dcbc3705@gmail.com. Or you can just reply to this comment. Thank you!
