Tuesday nights board meeting was canceled, which really made my night cause I didn't really want to go. The weather reports were all predicting ice and snow but every time I looked outside it didn't appear to be doing anything but drizzling. Charlie and I took 2 walks during the night and it didn't seem that bad. Sometime around 11 I went out to take the paper down to the curb. I took 2 steps out the door and bam my right leg went towards the lawn and my left knee came crashing to the walk. Good thing I was caring the recycle bin or I might have landed on my face. Never saw the ice and it didn't feel that cold out. My knee hurts. Mark is convinced that I will eventually fall apart. I spent the better part of Wednesday grocery shopping. Mark was home so he came with me. We started at Costco and got large quantities of fruit and snacks and bread. Not much really. I have cut back on the number of processed foods I will bring into the house. Most of the snack items were dried fruit and nuts. We went home unloaded the car and went back out to Stop and Shop where I got veggies, pasta, soda, and coffee. Gotta have coffee. Came home made a quick dinner and left for mah jongg. Should have skipped mah jongg - I was the big loser. We are not playing next week, thank you, one of the girls is heading to Florida for vacation and another is having a baby. Can't play with only 3 people. Got a call from Leanne just before I left telling me she was headed to the hospital. She has had a headache since last Friday and has not been able to eat or sleep. Nothing she took made the pain any better. They took blood and looked in her eyes, ears, nose, etc. and could not find the cause. They gave her an IV with meds and it helped with the pain. The only thing we know is she has an elevated white count. Which could be anything from a cold to stress induced. The hospital ruled out anything major but she still does not know what caused it. They did a cat scan too. She had a follow up today and the doctor want her to get some more blood work done and have an ultra sound. He said something about her gall bladder. Personally I vote for stress. She has been working all kinds of crazy hours in order to save up some money. Working lots of hours and not eating or sleeping correctly puts a lot of stress on a body. Grey's Anatomy starts soon so I'm outa here. I leave you with a picture of the Japanese Maple out front. Don't the water drops look like little gems?

In bright sun like at the beach usually 100. f-stop is also the aperture. The larger the number the more depth of field. It controls how much light reaches the camera sensors. For white balance I…
What ISO do you use in bright sunlight? 200? 100? I often have trouble taking pictures of "white" things (like swans, or snowy egrets, for example) and having them darken everything else in the…
We discussed panning but what I did was focus on the bird and take continuous shots. At 1000 you can fire off a lot of shots before the bird is out of the frame. Some were shot at a higher speed,…
I love them all -- but especially love the sand shot. Great going going on the bird in flight, too. They can be tough. In the photography course, did you work on "panning" when you're trying to…
