Caro Dee

So I saw that My Mongoose has decided the next ezine will be the last. I feel very sadface about it. Much like the people who were sad the Light My Fire Awards were over. It feels all very End Of Era to me and I don't like it. Of course, I haven't tribbed to them in a long time but I have lovely memories of being involved back when I was a wee new fan back in 2003.

Some of my earliest stories went to My Mongoose and how I loved having my stories illustrated. :-D This was way before the Big Bangs and it was rare to see art for stories unless you were in a paper zine. I remember a couple of times that I held off posting a new story because if I gave it to MME I would get a picture!!! That was worth giving up instant gratification of posting immediately. Thank you to Patt and Deanna and Debbie. I think they were the main artists. Am I forgetting anyone? Oh yeah, Sam who did the lovely drawn art for Surfer Moon.

Pattrose was the one who enticed me. She gave me such lovely feedback and asked if I would write something for MME. I was so new that I hadn't heard of it before but, hey, someone was asking for one of my stories! Wow! *g* And it was a lovely experience all around. I joined the Yahoo mailing list and took notice of every new deadline and it wasn't until my writing started to sloooow down that I stopped. But I still to this day peek at my WIP folder every time another ezine gets announced.

I haven't written in quite a while but I think I'd really like to have something in the last My Mongoose since it was such a big part of my early Sentinel fandom experience. *opens WIP folder with resolve!face* I would love to finish up a couple series that I started in MME. That would be perfect.
