Drabble

A Proposal
I'd like to see a weekly challenge here of sorts, something to get us posting and critiquing as a group.

I've found "drabbling" or writing a drabble (story in 100 words) is an interesting exercise, given that I tend to overwrite. It forces you to be very juidicious and thoughtful about how you craft the story.

I thought this was an excellent example of a drabble: Island Escape

The challenge could be "write a drabble evoking a place (or feeling, or character, etc.) We could all post, critique, and so forth. Drabbles are short, so they shouldn't cut into our time too much to write them.

Fear and Loating in Pennsylvania
First story that I am submitting. Some of you will recognize this from my journal. It's a series of posts I made describing an ill-fated trip to Pennsylvania that spuriusfurius dubbed "Fear and Loathing in Pennsylvania." I cleaned it up a bit, and am submitting it as one of my short stories.
