Bridget Jones's underpants, signed by Hugh Grant

A pair of outsized underpants from the film Bridget Jones's Diary are to be sold on the internet, weeks after they fetched £2,000 at a charity auction.
The pants, which have been signed by actor Hugh Grant with the message "Hello Mummy! Lots of love and kisses", were first auctioned on 14 September.

The sale took place in central London to benefit The Royal Parks Foundation.

Winning bidder Anna Mann said she decided to re-auction the pants on eBay to raise more money for the charity.

'Exciting bidding'

Ms Mann, who is a trustee of the charity, said: "It's such a great gift that I want every Bridget Jones fan to be able to bid and raise even more money for The Royal Parks and my own special interest of providing sport and open space for children."

Bridget Jones' Diary, starring Grant and Renee Zellweger, was a huge hit in 2001.

Several scenes from the second Bridget Jones film, The Edge of Reason, were shot in The Royal Parks, including the fight between Colin Firth and Grant.

Sara Lom, chief executive of The Royal Parks Foundation, said: "We are delighted that the London auction of the pants raised £2,000.

"Now we look forward to some equally exciting bidding between international fans on the world wide web."

The internet action will start at 1200 BST on Sunday, ending a week later at 1200 BST on Sunday 15 October.

i love that Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason is playing all the time on the movie channels my cable gets. it's even On Demand. of course, i own both DVDs but that doesn't stop me from still watching it every time i can catch it on television!

Hey! I've just joined because at my journal I made a poll: Mr. Darcy vs. Mark Darcy. (It came from an original Macfadyen v. Firth poll.There is no need to vote in it...as I think I can guess for whom you would all vote, and fear not, for he is already winning.)

Anyway,I ordinarily wouldn't do this, but the link has been dropped in a few Austen communities, and I thought that seemed an unfair advantage for Mr. Darcy, even if Mark Darcy is based off Mr. Darcy anyway.

So...please come! Vote! Fitzwilliam Darcy vs. Mark Darcy: Lethal Smackdown!

Seriously, though, it was like two days ago, but I refuse to rest until Mark Darcy has won this one, and right now he's behind by like...18.

So, I'm a bit biased.

Everytime I re-read either book, I want to write, think or talk like Bridget. I'll write in my diary like Bridget, write emails like Bridget (ex. "V. tired today", "Feel like mountain climber, Paris Hilton, similar"). It just makes me giggle everytime it happens. Makes me feel British too! I wish I was living in London, trading ciggies with my mates and gossiping over a bottle of wine and Milk Tray.

P.S. I know things are a bit slow...anybody have any good icons?

This may be random and i dunno if it is intentional or something to do with the acting or directing but, when Daniel says the comment about FR Levis dying in 1978, why does he walk away the way he does and not smile or say anything, basicly i'm trying to say what do you think he is thinking?

there's a part in one of the movies (somehow im having a brainfreeze and i have no idea which one) where bridget gets upset with Mark Darcy and part of what she says to him is...

"and i'm always going to be just a little fat"

i think shes comparing herself to Rebecca...?

i have a feeling its in the second movie but i'm not sure...
does anyone know the rest of the quote or even the part in which movie it's in?
