Ahh. Mary Sues, what would I be without them? What would we be without them? NOTHING! That's what. Our lives would be void of all meaning.
Okay, well, not really.
So what is a Mary Sue, you ask? Well, the best definition of the Urban Dictionary sums it up pretty well.
Mary Sue (mârs)
A character found in fanfiction that exhibits any or all of the following characteristics:
1. Extremely beautiful or talented 2. Has rediculously unique characteristics, such as purple eyes or rainbow hair 3. Has an angst-filled past wherein her immediate family has died (see also "smarm") 4. Is extremely powerful or god-like in their universe 3. Blames themselves for everything, regardless of whether they are responsible or not.
Her character is such a Mary Sue. All the crew members of the enterprise were in love with her in the first episode.
And, if anybody has been to The Pit's ugly cousin, SoupFiction.net, you can go into the Beatles section and see any, or all, of these examples of Mary Sueism. Hell, you don't even have to read the stories, and just look at the story summaries, to see what I mean:
