Forbidden Forest (Hermione, Cedric)
Harry waited at the edge of the forest for Hermione and Cedric. He'd managed to get ahold of a couple of dead mice from the magical pet store in Hogsmeade, and he carried them in a shoebox. Hermione was bringing the notes for the spell, and Cedric had wanted to watch. Still, Harry couldn't help feel a bit uneasy. He wanted this to work more than anything, but if it failed he wasn't sure if he wanted Ced there. With a sigh, he looked around for the others.

Noah sat in his office working on the coursework he was going to teach the following year. His class size was going to be cut in half--at the very least--and he was adapting the schedule to reflect such a change. It would be easier to teach more advanced Arithmancy to less students. But he was going to have to come up with more material to teach.

He pulled his glasses off with a sigh and leaned back in his chair. It'd been a long summer so far. He wondered how Minerva was doing.

Tonks, sopping wet, stood knee deep in the lake. Her short, bright pink hair was slicked back and her robes were on the shore. An aggrivated look crossed her face as she muttered into the deep "Bloody hell..." A few other profanities were thrown in before she lifted her arm and shook her fist at the water. "Yeah, well I hate you too!" She kicked the water and watched the murkiwater settle down, ignoring the footsteps behind her..

Walking towards Lupin's office
As he and Hermione walked towards the staff offices, he couldn't stop thinking about the spell. He wondered how hard it was going to be to get a dead animal into the castle without rousing too much suspicion. Lupin would probably be able to help with that, if he decided that it would be a good idea.

He stopped when they reached the door, and waited for Hermione to knock.

In The Dungeons - Looking for Snapeypoo
Sybill found the quiet of the castle relaxing after the clatter of the noisy students had long since ceased to reverberate through the halls. She even allowed herself to descend from her tower more often, visiting with Albus on occasion, and taking excursions to the Three Broomsticks for a drop of sherry now and then.

She realized that she had not seen Severus for a while, and decided to pay the potions master a call. She stood outside his office door, knocked quietly.

In Their Rooms - Locked to Remus
Sirius found that the closer he got to giving birth, the more he woke in the middle of the night to use the bathroom - annoying, but true. He tried to be as quiet as possible as he got up and out of bed each time, to keep from disturbing Remus' slumber. Sometimes Jared stirred when he passed by the dog's bed, and he would reach down and pat him softly, telling him not to wake Daddy.

He knew that the due date was only a few weeks away now, and he was both excited and nervous. Excited for obvious reasons, and nervous because he still wasn't sure how the baby was to be delivered. Perhaps they should have covered this more thoroughly before becoming pregnant, but hindsight was of no use now.

Damn, not again, he moaned to himself, drawing back the blankets and softly padding out of the room. On his way back to bed, he felt a little dizzy, and sat down suddenly in the chair by the fire to clear his head.

Bubble, Bubble but Hardly Bubbly
Ensconced in his personal laboratory adjacent to his quarters, Severus ignored the sound of bubbling liquids in various cauldrons and flasks, as he ran his index finger over the neatly inked words in an old tome. A reedy little voice from the book read to him where his finger touched the page. "...wormwood added at this stage of brewing enhances the calming effect of the draught... beware of too much... the potion addicting--"

He lifted his hand off the old page and his eyes glanced up, glowing in their dark depths. "Yes, perfect," he murmured to himself in his deep voice. His head inclined and candlelight reflected in his eyes at that angle until he looked sharply towards the door, which was bolted against intrusion from the corridor but the wood had started to glow as someone's unwanted approach set off the warning ward he had cast.
