I saw a comment of yours complaining about fanart getting more interactions than original art, and I decided to scroll through your blog. You draw very beautifully, and I realized I feel the same way about fanfiction vs original fiction. I write original fiction and almost nobody reads it, while everyone and their dog is reading fanfiction. (Nothing against fanart and fanfiction, I just want to talk to people about my stories and seeing you have a similar complaint about art made me feel seen.) As I'm typing this it's 1pm and I still haven't had breakfast so I'm gonna eat. What inspired you to start drawing? Or do you not remember?

And yes! original written works suffer the same fate! It’s because services like this people are searching for their fandom tags. I find people rarely search tags of general genre or media type so no matter what you tag it, it doesn’t matter because hardly anyone is bothering to search general use tags in the first place. (this is a problem in quiet a few places, not just tumblr)

And likewise, I have nothing against fanworks, but I think it’s consumed so much of our interaction with the world that many people forget to intentionally look for anything that isn’t fandom-related and we all loose a form of connection as a result.

I started drawing because I had stuff in my head I wanted to share. I had soo many thing in my mind I could visualize and the only way I could share them, was to draw them, so I drew. All of my motivation to draw is to get the stuff in my head, onto something that I can share with others.

6: Do you have any OCs without stories? Will you ever create one for them?

Uh.. some of my dragons I guess. Methalous, Dayma, Sygan. But they’re kinda in a limbo because they were part of a world where there was a joke fantasy story I had but because of my limited interest in low-tech fantasy, I haven’t really touched it much. Sunset bird doesn’t even have that though.

21: When did you start considering yourself a writer/artist?

As soon as I could make stuff on my own.

22: What are all the “kinds” of writing/art you do? (short stories, poetry, screenplays, digital, painting, clay, etc.)

Right now, working on a comic script to actually make comics. Right now a lot of shorts and stand-alone illustrations.

28: Favourite songs at the moment?

Umm I really want to get the Fear album by Anxiety Online

Yeaaah it does. (‘demon’ was supposed to be metaphor related) I have no idea what the name of the military branch she’s in, is. Or even if her Unit has a title of some sort. But that could be something to work on. I know part of the running theme has to do with history, the effect choices can have years later. Hmm I’ll give it some thought, doesn’t seem like a bad way to go. Thanks.

Haha well the best I’ve been able to describe this particular concept is ‘A Super Hero Comic Without Costumes’, It’s future set with soft sci-fi 'rules’, in the middle of a war (caused by events of a past war over a century ago). Follows a team of soldiers and it’s pretty brutal and terrible.
