BERJAYA

Re-watching CQL/TU up to episode.23 now and I've got to admire JGY's plotting.

Behind the cut for spoilers.

So after getting kicked out for murder from the Nie Sect, he goes right to the Wens to be a spy. He helps LXC therefore making the latter indebted to him and ensuring he'll be protected when the confrontation happens at the end of the siege on Nightless City.

LXC saves him and NMJ can't tell his friend about JGY's crime because JGY also saved his life. A very clever trap binding NMJ by his own sense of honour. Then JGY kills the very same Wen family members who by his own words don't practice cultivation to appease his father and willingly becomes his father's tool for any dirty work, when he actually told LXC and NMJ that he'd take these people to a sort of prisoners camp. It's pretty much a slippery slope from there as JGY's lies and the blood on his hands increase with each act.

I wonder sometimes that someone as intelligent as JGY would risk it all just for a family name, to not be a bastard in the eyes of the world even while fully knowing his father's character, and that no one would ever forget or overlook him being born from a prostitute. But I suppose wanting the love of a parent has led to a lot of tragedies over humanity's history.
