araSO. I am headed out of the country for a week, leaving sometime in the wee hours between Friday and Saturday. I'll be in the literal middle of nowhere, Canada, with no internet, or even cell service, so if you're looking to get ahold of me, I'm not going to see anything until Saturday at the earliest.

I will have to buy tickets to Portland to see my mom soon, and if you are interested in coming over to the West Coast to enjoy the city or cities, I wouldn't have much opposition to timing it so you can fly to one city where I am, then fly to the other city with me, and from there go back home when we're done taking the city by storm.
Think you could work out the dates by the end of your vacation, or possibly use a landline to call me and let me know if this is even feasible?
