My name is Brandy Kirby, and I love Anime. Yea, basically, I was the only one who knew what Anime was in high school. Weird, huh? My last year, I made friends with a guy who loved Anime just as much as I did. He had just moved there. I sure do miss him, but when I got to EKU, I was like. O_O! Anime Fans are everywhere. Well, not everywhere. I wasn't able to attend the meetings because I'm usually out of class by 5:30 to 6:30. I might have time to stop by for the meetings... only if you don't care. I'm not a very active person at all and I'm shy. But I do love Anime. Anime has been my fad since I first started getting into it more. I think I love too much that I begin making up my own characters with weird names. lol DNAngel and Spiral series were the favorite anime that I watched on DvD so far. On Tv, Sailormoon was the first anime ever. No joke about it. I get the magizines called NewType USA every month. I would rather buy them at Hastings since that is the awesome place to find more anime and manga to grab my hands onto. ^.^;; Don't mind me, but I really do wish I could stop by tonight. I'll try my best though. Thanks!

I just joined the EKU community and stumbled across this one. It makes me really happy that there's an Anime Club ^_^ I don't go to EKU, but I hope to after I graduate this year. I figured this would be a good way to make some friends before I get there, as of right now my friend Megan and I are kind of alone. We plan to room together, but having other friends would be awesome too. Megan likes anime too. We're both taking a Japanese class at Scott County high school right now. I'm in Japanese II and she's in Japanese I.
Anyway, I guess I'll name a few shows I like. Maybe that will get me started on the whole making friends thing. ^_^

Hey, I was just wondering if its like too late to start comming? The past Wed.'s have been really hectic for me, and now it looks like Imma have free Wed.'s from now on.. so, am I allowed to come? And if so.. is it still located in the Adams froom in Wallace? Could someone please tell me where the Adams room is?

Hola hola! =D I just stopped by the EKU booth at the clubs fair, and was very interested, and signed up. However, I have a Political Science Class from 6 until around 8:30 or so on Wednesdays, and I know the club starts its meetings at 6. I was curious if people come in late, and if that's okay? I know, its kinda creepy that I'm asking this the day that I even asked to join, but I really would like to join, maybe make some friends (lord knows I need them. =D) and all that rot.

I'm starting this fall and I'd like to get to know some ppl on campus before I get there so I know a few others who share my intrest in anime, japanese culture, and visual arts. I know a few ppl..but only like 3 that will be there this fall and would love to meet more ppl so I won't be so alone once I get there.

Last night there was a modest showing compared to our other nights, though I know there were other events like the Tea Ceremony in the Library and other things. Anyway, we screened 'Detective Conan' vol. 1 for
FUNimation, as well as showing a special called '12 Million Hostages', and received a few free things including a coupon for ordering the DVD from FUNimation for 40% off. I still have coupons left if people are still interested, though the expiration date for these offers is the first week of November. Next week we are showing 'Dragon Drive'!!
About the Library: I'll be at Powell on Friday about 2:30 til about
3pm to take returned items and if others wish to take things out of
the library at some point. Remember, you must be a member to 'rent'
things out of the Library! Everything that was taken out before last
week(September 29) must be returned by next week, please?
Last night I talked about designing a pumpkin for the Halloween event
EKU is holding. Anyone interested in helping me, please email me. I
can buy the pumpkin this weekend. Now that I have the email in front
of me, I can clarify the rules:
"1. First ten groups to sign up receive a free pumpkin! All others must
supply their own. (I think we can afford a $3 pumpkin anyway)
2. Your group carves or decorates its pumpkin any way it wants
3. We give you a milk jug to collect donations
4. All pumpkins go on display Friday, Oct 29th in front of the Powell
Building from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
5. Folks vote by stuffing your milk jug with their spare change
between 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday, Oct 29
6. The pumpkin with the most money WINS and KEEPS ITS CASH!
All other pumpkin proceeds go to the EKU Geography Travel Scholarship
Fund, which supports students participating in professional
conferences and field study experiences.
A panel of university "celebrity judges" will award additional prizes
throughout the day for such things as scariest or most creative
display, pumpkin most likely to win a presidential election, the most
enthusiastic student group, or other categories that will be
determined entirely on the discretion of the faculty/staff judges."

Still no clue when Dr. Conneely will be here, I guess he's too

Hi! Unfortunately it isn't filled in all the way, as I mentioned before we're waiting for repsonses from Anime companies to participate in their Club Screening programs. I also want to point out that this list is subject to change, depending on availability and licensing issues... ^-^
But here's the schedule so far:

October 27 - Our Halloween showing, we've decided to make this Miyazaki night with different movies by Miyazaki Hayao and Studio Ghibli. Also, this is Cosplay Night because of Halloween, dress like your favorite anime character and possibly win a prize!
November is being worked on, though Sugoi-con is on Nov. 19-21 in
Cincinnati(along the river), and there will be no showing on Nov. 24
because of Thanksgiving Break.
December 1st is also in process of being decided
December 8 - Tokyo Godfathers
December 15 - last showing for Fall 2004 - PotLuck Anime!

Hello! Despite an hour-long delay due to technical problems, we still managed to watch the first four episodes of 'Last Exile'. I think everyone was impressed, and quite a few were interested in watching more if time hadn't been an issue. ^-^ I think there were about 8 people there, most new people, so I am very excited in the hopes that this semester will be successful.
Next week we plan to show "HunterxHunter", which is a show created by the same person who created YuYu Hakusho. Definately a good show to watch, I think. ^-^ I'll also post a schedule for the first half of the series tonight, though I am waiting on companies like FUNimation, Bandai and ADV to include our club in their programs.
Also, I received a letter from James Conneely, who is the Vice President of Student Affairs. He wrote in that he 'would like to attend a meeting to address any questions/concerns' any members may have. He also wishes to meet with the president of the club(me) one on one at some point, and also to attend any events/functions we plan during this semester.
