So for those who're newish to the party, Bad Company is basically an LW-based AU Year Six fic that ataniell93 and I play with from time to time. Basically, it's an exercise of 'how could these circumstances we've got in our game bring us canon if we wanted them to' and 'how can we write things post-OotP more to our liking than Jo did.' Needless to say, it's totally AU to the game itself which is not intended to end or result in canon. Still, it's fun as an intellectual exercise and it can produce interesting ficlets from time to time. (And of course, it's totally HBP-free, making a nice alternative to the Adventures of Harry's Chest Monster.)

Anyhow, today ataniell93 and I posted some ficlet-y BC-age:

Hadrian and Endymion, 1979 and Alastor and Harry, July 1996.

The first, which is ataniell93's, is heart-breaking; the second, which is mine, is funny. Thus do we both play to our strengths.

Our final candle takes us to June 1929 in the World Well Lost/Lightning War HP AU, when Kyteler finds himself unable to keep a vow--and will undoubtedly appear in a future arc of World Well Lost:

...I know that your love is true and deep as the sea--but right now everything you want is wrong--and right now all your dreams are waking up--and right now I wish I could follow you...

I won't be doing this every day until the next long holiday; but I started several of these that I haven't finished, so expect to see them posted over the next few weeks...

(Yes, Jessy, you might get your 12 after all...after all, I have promised Marna Honoria Lady Delgardie and sand-castles, and I will get that up as soon as it co-operates!)

Our seventh candle takes us back to September 1915 in the World Well Lost/Lightning War HP AU, when the boy who will someday become Dracaena Malfoy e Zabini is working undercover for Kyteler in France as a girl named Marcella Dumont, and spends the afternoon with her brother's friend Jack Gardner, who mostly appears in biichan's story The Last Great War:

...maybe you're tired and broken; your tongue is twisted with words half-spoken and thoughts unclear--what do you want me to do, to do for you, to see you through?

Our sixth candle will probably reappear in a slightly different form in a future arc of World Well Lost, and takes us to Saturnalia 1928 in the World Well Lost/Lightning War HP AU, when St John Thibault Saunders is declared the Lord of Misrule:

...pass the cup and pass the lady, pass the plate to all who hunger, pass the wit of ancient wisdom, pass the cup of crimson wonder...

Our fifth candle will probably reappear in a slightly different form sometime near the end of a future arc of World Well Lost, and takes us to May of 1927 in the World Well Lost/Lightning War HP AU, when Dracaena and Ercole meet the Galla Melissa Sofia:
