ashmedai. Here's the deal: The rule: during the next five days, post three positive things about your day and ask three people to do the same so the positive attitude can gain some ground.
I was tagged by
spankingfemme and I told myself I would definitely do this. So though it is 'technically' Sunday, we will call this Saturday's post. *Beams* I will only tag one time and I will tag only three people - so no worries, m'loves! And today was a good day, so I will happily list my positive things!
1) Was sent to another post office and was only only welcomed, was praised, thanked and praised again! The supervisor there made no bones about the fact he wanted me back there again. As in, he not only said it to my face, he said it over the phone. Think I rather impressed him, though I was quite sure I would mess everything up. Made my day, really. And the route was nice all around, so there was happiness there as well (plus the temps being down today helped, even as it was muggy as all get-outhell, even The Red Threat didn't fuck with my day any!).
2) When I came home, hubby and the boyos were over at a friend's house hanging out. Which means I had the house to myself! Got a lot done. Put dinner on for myself (just some soup and a couple of sandwiches) and while I was waiting for the soup to cook, I folded and put away laundry, swept up a bit, loaded the dishwasher, made the bed for the boyos and in general made my house a tad neater. Checked up on hubby and the kiddos, ate dinner, then set the dishes to wash while I watched a couple of eppies of Penny Dreadful and the latest Rizzoli and Isles before they came home. Nice, peaceful and relaxing!
3) I have recieved a few lovely comments about my fic on FF.Net and AO3 (as well as some healthy encouragement to update, lol)! Here's to hoping that I can get back to writing soon, as I would love to put Musie back to work and go to my Happy Place. For now though, I was just happy to get caught up with everyone and check my emails and comments and answer what I could. Considering my housework was done pretty much as soon as I got home today, that leaves tomorrow very much free (for reading, ficcing and slobbing about in general). So I feel caught up and accomplished and content all at once!
As we can see, not a bad day by a long shot. I'm tired, but not drop dead exhausted - and it was nice getting out of my own post office and working for another one. The people there were friendly and helpful and were surprised at the speed at which I worked. I hated to tell them it was all sheer self defense, lol!! I did tell them that I tried to make sure I took my breaks and spaced it out some...but not knowing the route, I was also trying to make sure I got everything knocked out of the way properly. I was so sure I was behind (the mentality that my current post office has instilled in me), but it turned out I was slightly ahead of schedule and wayyyy ahead of what they expected. All in all - a fine day. And I'm very much looking forward to my day off! Whoot!!
Still haven't seen Doctor Who though. I'll have to save all those posts for Monday or late tomorrow evening. Hubby wants to watch after the kiddos go to bed tomorrow and gosh knows I likely work on Monday, so I'll catch as catch can with those. Hopefully I won't fall too far behind again.
Which does remind me that I DO have comments to answer from last week. O_O I will be getting to those tomorrow/today, lovies. I promise! Until then, I am going to go face plant and call it a day. It was a good day, but all good things must end for new good things to begin, yes?
*Grins with sleepy happiness*
Before I go though, I tag
flowsoffire,
eve11 and
irishvampire13 for this meme. You can do it, ladies! I know you can!
And with that, I'm off to bed! See you soon, loves!

Date: 2014-09-07 11:36 am (UTC)I've been cleaning the house this weekend too...ugh, so exhausting, didn't get near as much as I had hoped to *sigh* at least it's a start
and the new post office experience should only solidify the fact that the asshattery at the other place IS NOT YOU....it certainly seems like the crotchroach supervisor you have, that just like to piss in people's Cherrios for no reason...hang tight hun, maybe you'll get a permenant transfer to a better station (I'm assuming that's a thing in the PO...)

Date: 2014-09-09 01:52 am (UTC)True. And with every bit done and out of the way, it means that there is that much less left to do!
It rather has. And it has made me more relaxed about my own post office. A report from a friend of mine has told me that other post offices are WAY MORE LAIDBACK. The one we're at is...rigid and hardcore. But we're surviving there! And bringing our kick-ass to other postal points, lol!!
It can be. But only if one gets hired on permanent. Dunno when or if that will happen for me. But when my three months is up, I'm going to be finding ways to go permenant. Maybe even with an office-like position! Either way, I'm rather determined to hang in there!

Date: 2014-09-07 06:21 pm (UTC)The reaction at the other post office seems much more in line with what I know of you—it's some of the people you have to deal with at your own that are the problem.
YOU are awesome. Always remember that.

Date: 2014-09-09 02:04 am (UTC)Ahh, bless you, lovie. *Smiles* I must say I was more than a bit bewildered myself. I just couldn't understand why I'd throw down so hard and still get rode every day. Guess it's just the place I'm located at. *Hands*
Thank you, thank you. Must be the proximity of my ElJay to Awesome People such as yourself!
*Squishes you breathless*

Date: 2014-09-07 06:59 pm (UTC)Having the house to yourself is such a joy (especially when the kids are younger and higher maintenance) (but it's still a treat even with teenager/preteen in the house, haha, and I don't see that stopping any time soon)
So, hooray for a lovely day all around!

Date: 2014-09-09 02:09 am (UTC)Ahh, it definitely was! I came home to a quiet house and the ability to just relax for a little while. It was divine!
Indeed! And thank you for dropping by! Made a good day even better!

Date: 2014-09-08 11:55 am (UTC)I'm really glad the other post office was great and good to you. I wonder if things would go differently if your own post office regarded you that way. I hope you have more of those moments at work! *hugs*

Date: 2014-09-09 02:12 am (UTC)I was surprised and very relieved. It has also changed my perspective on my own post office. I'm definitely taking things a bit more in stride now - and I'm looking forward to work more than dreading it (as I had been the last week!)
