30th-Jan-2007 06:44 pm - Hi
godot
Hey there.

I joined this community about a minute ago because I decided I needed another Livejournal distraction and since I don't have one about audio production OR hip-hop this could be both an interesting and useful community for me to become a part of.
I'm really not a very good producer, although that could be to do with the relatively short amount of time I've been doing it and the software I use, although I generally say that kind of thing when I don't necessarily want to say that maybe I'm not so great at something. Anyway, I make kinda droney/jazzy instrumental hip hop, which tends towards more original programming than samples, although I do love sampling other tracks. I use Goldwave and a fucking demo of fruityloops 5 to make my music which means that my computer ends up being left on for amazingly long times.
Influnces include Blockhead, anticon, Madlib, Dan the Automater and so forth.

I have a myspace with two songs, both with problems which are now essentially unfixable (because of my demo version), but in any case they are here: or here

Coooool. I look forward to chatting with some or all of you about music production and hip hop and stuff.

someone update this.

I got around to setting up a myspace music account - http://www.myspace.com/sbkbox

and an imeem account. If you haven't checked out imeem yet, you should, because it's vastly superior to MySpace in pretty much every way. http://sbkbox.imeem.com

check it out and maybe shoot me an add if you're on either.

oh and someone update this with something interesting, please.
cute in a sad way, racial profiling
Hey. Self promotion time.

Check out my new music video, for the Cypher:Dissident song "It's a Disgrace." It's pretty fresh, especially given our extremely limited budget and time frame within which to complete the thing.

It's also available on my myspace page (my eyes roll every time I say that), at myspace.com/rev1lastrevolutionaryemcee

Guys, this is a serious question.

Car?

or MPC?

I'm tired of doing my shit on the computer, with a mouse, and the delay on this padKontrol just isn't pleasing me. I also wouldn't mind actually putting this license of mine to some use. What should I do?

Damn. Well I've underestimated myself in saying that I will try to help keep this community active. It's just been crazy latley with school and work. I'm hoping that I can at least post once a week. Something in terms of latest digs, samples, tutorials, etc. I really wanted to get this thing together, so I'm going to make another atempt. :).
2nd-Oct-2006 08:07 pm - FL6 to Ab Live 6
I just picked this up today and wondering if anyone had any advice on the transition.

sofar it's kind of aggravating. whenever I'm recording and triggeranother track it doesn't come in for a couple seconds, and everythingis totally off. am I going about this wrong? The thing i liked about FLwas I could lay out all the sections of the song without having tolisten or record or whatever.

But I've always heard it's a superior program to FL, so... advice?
