@Graeme Bartlett: There is a chance that this template can also be converted into a periodic table form, similar to Template:Acetates and as mentioned at Template talk:Oxalates. However, unsurprisingly, a "periodic table of oxides" would likely be filled to the brim with articles in every box, and highly involved (compared to what the Oxalate template might look like). Still though, such a format wouldn't be THAT much more densely crowded than the status quo, compared to how the template currently is (sorted by oxidation state).
