WordPress Core Components

For the purposes of contributing, WordPress is organized into components. These are well-defined, functional areas of coreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress.. Many contributors take a particular interest in certain areas, whether it is maintaining the HTTP API or improving the Editor.
