Biography
Growing up in the busy streets of New York, I have always been captivated by the interplay between light and shadow. From the tender age of seven, armed with my first camera, a vintage Polaroid, I began documenting the world in black and white. This passion for monochromatic visuals grew as I matured, serving as a narrative to my journey as a photographer.
My academic path was punctuated with a Fine Arts degree from New York University, where I deepened my understanding of visual storytelling. After graduation, I yearned to explore the silent drama of shadow play, and this quest led me across continents, from the architectural wonders of Europe to the mystic landscapes of Asia, immortalizing the silent stories hidden in plain sight.
The accolades and exhibitions that followed were humbling. Seeing my series “Shadows and Silhouettes” displayed at the prestigious Metropolitan Art House was nothing short of a dream come true. Each exhibition, whether in the bustling heart of Los Angeles or the historic galleries of London, has been a testament to the universality of the language of light.
The opportunities to share my insights through talks at various esteemed institutions, including NYU and the University of the Arts, have been among the most rewarding experiences. Engaging with budding photographers and art enthusiasts about the essence of black and white photography truly invigorates my spirit.
Recognition from my peers and the industry, such as the International Photographer of the Year and the Artists’ Guild Excellence Medal, is incredibly affirming. However, my greatest reward is the conversation each photograph initiates with its viewer. As I look to the horizon, my heart races with anticipation for the untold stories yet to be captured through my lens. The dance of light and shadow is unending, and so is my journey as a photographer.
