Chromatic vs Achromatic

Chroma is the purity of a color defined as its freedom from tints of white or shades of black. The term can also be used to describe the intensity of a color relative to its surroundings.

Chomatic vs Achromatic

When a color is pure it is said to be a chomatic color. A color that is tinted or shaded is deemed achromatic.
