Loon Lake Water Loading Station New Key Fob Option

Situated in northwestern Saskatchewan, about a 90-minute drive from Lloydminster, lies the Rural Municipality of Loon Lake. The population of the RM is approximately 800, with the majority living in the towns of Loon Lake and Makwa. Encompassing 2,805 square kilometres, the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation reserve is also contained within the RM’s boundaries.
Makwa Lake Provincial Park
- Listen for the call of the loon at Makwa Lake Provincial Park. Made up of an expansive forest connecting five lakes, this park features three campgrounds, multiple sandy beaches, service centers, hiking trails and a beach access wheelchair for persons with mobility needs. While in the area, visit nearby Steele Narrows Provincial Park, the site of the final battle of the North-West Resistance.
- Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the Stabler Point Campground in the Makwa Lake Provincial Park. This scenic campground is situated between Big Jumbo and Little Jumbo Lakes and offers a variety of water and beach-related activities. Campground also close to golf course.
- Situated in jack pine forest and close to a sandy beach, the Mewasin Beach Campground can be found in the Makwa Lake Provincial Park on the south arm of Big Jumbo Lake. This small campground offers many recreational opportunities.
