Moselle

The Luxembourg Moselle is located in the east of Luxembourg. It takes its name from the Moselle River, called d'Musel in Luxembourgish, which forms the border with Germany. Far from dividing, it brings neighboring countries closer together and perfectly illustrates the European spirit of the region, especially in Schengen, the birthplace of border-free Europe, where the European Museum is located.

The Moselle Valley stretches for about 42 km, from Schengen to Wasserbillig, along the winding course of the Moselle and through small picturesque villages. Thanks to its mild climate and sunny hills, the conditions are ideal for viticulture. Today, the region is best known for its white and sparkling wines, such as Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Auxerrois. The Luxembourg Moselle is therefore considered the country's main wine-producing region, where vineyards shape the landscape. Vines play an essential role in the local culture.

The Moselle also offers many activities. Visitors can explore wine-growing villages, taste wine at local producers, enjoy nature walks, or go on beautiful hikes along the river, through vineyards, hills, and the region’s nature reserves. For those who enjoy discovering landscapes from the water in complete tranquility, a boat trip offers a different perspective on the region.
