To start using online library resources with your student account:

1. Select which resource you would like to use
2. Log in with your student account when prompted
3. Do no use "Log In/My KCLS" button at the top of the page

There are a couple of reasons why you might get this error. 

1. You might be in our catalog. 

Did you go to KCLS.org and click on "Log In / My KCLS" in the upper right? This "Log In" link will take you to the catalog of books and other physical items. You will know if you are in the catalog if you see "bibliocommons" in the URL like this:  

https://kcls.bibliocommons.com/ 

Since student accounts only provide access to online resources, you will not be able to log in to the catalog.  

To use your student account:

Select the online resource you want to use (eBooks and downloadable audiobooks, Brainfuse, etc.). Then, log in when prompted. 

Or;

2. Your parent or caregiver may have opted you out of student accounts. Check with your school district to find out.

K-12 student accounts expire on July 1 of the year after the student turns 21 years of age.  

College student accounts expire four years after the date they were created. 

No. If a student already has a physical King County Library System card, they will continue to be able to use it to:  

• check out materials from the library and  
• use in-library computers.  

Student accounts:  

• supplement physical library cards and  
• improve each student's access to online research tools as part of their school work.  

Don't have a physical library card? Students may also get an all-access card if they meet eligibility requirements.
