Add topicOrdnance Survey maps
[edit]I don't seem to be able to access these any more (by clicking on coordinates at the top of an article) - they always came up when clicking on "OS maps" - are you aware of any temporary (or permanent) problem? Thanks, T. Tony Holkham (Talk) 18:03, 27 October 2025 (UTC)
- Tony Holkham I have not come up against any such problem but it is not a facility I use frequently. I have just tried going from the 'Rogate' article which led to a page with the choice of Popular, Global/Trans-national services and Regional services etc. I nearly always first try Google satellite under Global but this time as you had mentioned it, used an OS which opened successfully albeit slightly slowly with my fast connection. Please give an article where you are having a problem and exactly which link you are trying. Otherwise one of the help desks might be better than me.SovalValtos (talk) 22:30, 27 October 2025 (UTC)
- All articles have the same response. The topo column has OS maps all the way down, but only the systematic one shows an actual OS map, and I have to fill in the place; most of the others show Bing. The OS option shows a national view with the option to sign in to OC or start a free trial. I can work round it as long as OS is one of the options, but it's just odd when the column is full of "OS map" but they don't show. Tony Holkham (Talk) 12:18, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- Tony Holkham I really am not the person to help with this. I use Memory-Map for the current UK 1:25k and up, ~ยฃ100.SovalValtos (talk) 12:38, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- OK, but thanks. T. Tony Holkham (Talk) 12:43, 29 October 2025 (UTC)

Hello, I'm the user who reported User:IvanScrooge98 for edit warring about IPA in the administrators' noticeboard where you said that a Wikipedia article isn't a reliable source. I've opened a discussion in the talk page of Margherita Hack right about this, would you like to speak your mind there? ~2025-33234-66 (talk) 21:00, 13 November 2025 (UTC)

Cooperative Clarification
[edit]Dear SovalValtos,
I am pleased to see that a more experienced Wikipedia editor has reviewed and corrected an issue in my recent contribution. I sincerely appreciate your time and guidance.
The paragraph I added to the page of St. Gregory's High School and College concerned its student clubs, which had previously been absent, and I have now revised it to ensure a neutral tone in accordance with Wikipediaโs standards. I would be grateful if you could review the updated version and provide any further suggestions. Thank you for your efforts in maintaining the quality and reliability of this platform!
With regards,
Loughborough university page edit reverted
[edit]Hi, may I ask why did you revert my edit? I added Molly Anderson as notable alumni since she was appointed VP at Apple for Industrial Design, which is arguably one of the most prestigious and important roles in the entire design world. I want to learn the reason as to why you removed my edit. Cheers. EzRapper (talk) 17:38, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
- User;EzRapper please use the article talk page to discuss edits on an article rather than my talk page. An article should be published about Molly Anderson before adding her name to a list of notable alumni. See the link I gave WP:WTAF.SovalValtos (talk) 18:26, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
NYMR
[edit]Any chance you can explain your summary? Apologies, it just didn't make sense the way you'd written it! Danners430 tweaks made 19:15, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
- Also the second tag you added, for 825 - Essex Locomotive Society are explicitly named as the owners in the given citeโฆ whatโs going on? Danners430 tweaks made 19:28, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
- Danners430 Comments about an article's edits are better done on the article's talk page rather than an editor's. The most recent edit summary I made on NYMR before your comment was Cit which is shorthand for citation request. Perhaps it was an earlier one, you didn't specify. The idea that Piglet is well known enough worldwide for wikipedia purposes to be Paul Middleton is risible. Winnie the Pooh? Best wishes.โ Preceding unsigned comment added by SovalValtos (talk โข contribs) 11:30, 29 April 2026 (UTC)
- We can certainly discuss that issue on the article talk page - my initial comment was asking for clarification on what the edit summary in your revert meant, as it didnโt make sense the way it read. If you have no objection, Iโll revert your addition of a CN tag to 825โs owner, as it is already cited in the last column of the table. WRT to Lucie, we can discuss at the talk page. Hethersett request for assistance
[edit]Hi @SovalValtos!
I'm working on improving the Hethersett article, and could use some help. As you made a few edits to the page a little while back, I was wondering if you would be willing to assist me with it. Thanks for your consideration,

๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ญ๐ฒโโ โ๏ธ (talk) 05:35, 28 July 2026 (UTC)- This is definitely worth nominating for Did you know? as it would give the charity worldwide recognition. Best wishes, T.
I have sent you a note about a page you started
[edit]Hi SovalValtos. Thank you for your work on Charlie's Promise. Another editor, Tony Holkham, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
SV, I have expanded some urls and will do the rest later today. You should definitely nominate the article for Did you know? to get the charity more worldwide attention. Best wishes, Tony.

- @Tony Holkham: thank you for pulling my faults into shape. I hope that more will be added to the 'start class' article in time for a 'Did you know'. The only current hook seems to be 'Martin Cosser, made a promise to him as he lay dying, that he would not be forgotten and has vowed to spend the rest of his life educating people about knife crime'. I may be able to upload a photo of the charity's lapel badge.SovalValtos (talk) 16:28, 28 July 2026 (UTC)
- You may not agree, but I thought a hook more likely to grab attention would be that Charlie's own school, when offered a talk by the charity, said "No, no, no." Tony Holkham (Talk) 17:53, 28 July 2026 (UTC)
