- Oh my goodness, I'm really sorry. I was trying to move the page to the new name and thought that I had done it properly. My apologies! Lucas-4648 (talk) 07:42, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
2025–26 UMass Lowell River Hawks women's basketball team moved to draftspace
[edit source]Thanks for your contributions to 2025–26 UMass Lowell River Hawks women's basketball team. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. JTtheOG (talk) 20:04, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hi! I'm perfectly fine with this if you think that there is insufficient information, however I would like to ask what exactly the problem was with this page specifically? I've been making pages for various teams now and none of them have been taken down for insufficient information. This isn't to say I'm trying to undermine anyone, I'm just curious. Thanks! Disambiguation link notification for July 26
[edit source]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2026–27 Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball team, a link pointing to the disambiguation page Davenport High School was added. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Abbreviations
[edit source]Please stop abbreviating US state names in articles. We don't assume that all readers are from the US. The names of states should always be spelled out (e.g. "Staten Island, New York" instead of "Staten Island, NY"). Electricmemory (talk) In solidarity 03:59, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
- This hasn't been a problem for any of the other pages I've been making (which at this point is 50+). Can you please let me know how and why exactly this is a problem now? Every other college basketball page, created by me or not, has abbreviated state names. Lucas-4648 (talk) 04:29, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
- Just because nobody's come along and changed them doesn't stop them from being a problem. On the English Wikipedia we don't assume readers are from the US/know US geography. MOS:1STOCC requires that at least the first occurrence in an article be written out in full. Space in Wikipedia is also not at a premium- you're not saving or helping anything by abbreviating things which don't need to be abbreviated. Electricmemory (talk) In solidarity 04:46, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
- I didn't realize abbreviating the name of a state was such a cardinal sin on here, but I don't have time to argue with people over a college basketball departures section. If it's such a huge problem, then fine - I won't abbreviate state names anymore. Have a great day. Lucas-4648 (talk) 04:50, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
- It's not a cardinal sin, don't be melodramatic. I didn't even ask you to go and fix all of them. Just please don't do it again the next time you write one of those pages, and we're good. I also see that you have abbreviated US state names but spelled out the full names of Australian states, so I don't see how it's a problem for you to spell out American ones as well. Electricmemory (talk) In solidarity 04:56, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
- I haven't written out the full names of Australian states...I go based off of where they're listed as being born on their websites. If its an American hometown, I abbreviate the state name. If its anywhere but America, I use the city name and their full country name. If its Canada, city name and full province name.
- Other people write it like this, so if you're going to call me out about it, call it fairly. Lucas-4648 (talk) 04:59, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
