Not sure why the age correction was undone. This person was not born in 1991. He was born in 1985. This is now documented multiple places and was correctly attributed. ~2026-91092-3 (talk) 04:47, 10 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Look like Dave Meltzer said on WOR he is 41 years old. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 10:02, 10 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
I don't think we should be adding the 1985 birth year based on a passing remark by a journalist, but perhaps we should remove the 1991 date as it seems to be in question? McPhail (talk) 12:04, 10 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
That’s the best thing to do, in my opinion. Lemonademan22 (talk) 13:06, 10 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, I will do that. McPhail (talk) 13:53, 10 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
That's probably the right way to go about it since the 1991 date wasn't from a reliable source in the first place (profightdb).
Meltzer did list him as 41 behind the paywall in the Wrestling Observer but didn't elaborate. Froo (talk) 15:43, 10 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
I guess that's the different person that registered at California Birth Index. I don't think it is Hobbs' real name. ~2026-11883-18 (talk) 14:41, 23 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Powerhouse HobbsRoyce KeysWP:COMMONNAME. Most major sources are calling him Royce Keys instead of Powerhouse Hobbs. ShallowC (talk) 20:30, 25 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

  • Support per WP:COMMONNAME. Coverage since his WWE signing in January 2026 has consistently used "Royce Keys" as the primary name in ongoing reporting, with "Powerhouse Hobbs" now referenced only as his former AEW ring name. Pascuet (talk) 04:44, 26 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose Similar to articles like Saraya Bevis, Malakai Black or Miro/Rusev. As soon the wrestler is released, people will ask for a name change back to the old name. He worked for 6 years as Powerhouse Hobbs, the largest part of the article is sourced as Hobbs. As Hobbs, he won titles in AEW, singles and trios. He has only worked as Keys for less than a year as a low card wrestler. It's WP:RECENTISM. "change it to Keys becuase it's the name he is using now". Again, if he is released, people will argue "change back to Hobbs, he worked for yearsin AEW, has been a champion, he wrestled as Keys for one year". --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 09:17, 26 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Oppose, too soon. Say he left WWE tomorrow - I think it would be difficult to say that his run there eclipsed his entire AEW run. McPhail (talk) 16:45, 26 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Oppose for the same reasons as always with these situations. Look at the debacle with Aleister Black. — Czello (music) 16:47, 26 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
