Here is what you can build across the 4 primary tracks: → Fire TV: ship a demo-ready app on Fire OS or Vega OS using React Native, web tech, or Android → Alexa+: build a self-hosted MCP server or an Agent Skill. MCP is the open standard that powers Alexa+ integrations. → Ring: build on Ring's APIs, SDKs, and simulators. No physical device required → Bee: connect to real data from a Bee device or an Apple Watch running Bee On top of all that, you can document your experience with a Friction Log telling the team exactly what went wrong (cryptic errors, broken dependencies, outdated docs), and you’ll get up to a 10% bonus on your final judging score. Proud to share #StayLong — our project for the All Things Agentic Hackathon on Devpost, built on Google Cloud. StayLong is an ageing-in-place coordination agent that helps older Australians who live alone remain independent at home for longer. The challenge is not simply finding advice. It is turning an everyday, non-clinical home concern into assessment-ready information and a practical next step, while keeping the older person in control of every external action. StayLong turns a home concern into a clear plan with approval-safe next steps. Every external action remains behind an explicit human approval gate. I led product strategy, design, technical architecture, and the core implementation. The solution combines a guided experience with an approval-safe, event-driven Google Cloud architecture: • Google ADK and Gemini 3.6 Flash on Vertex AI prepare bounded coordination plans • Gemma 4 via Vertex Model Garden MaaS provides a fail-closed privacy guard • Cloud Run, Firestore, Cloud Tasks and Pub/Sub support persistent, event-driven follow-through • Explicit approval gates separate proposals from optional private OAuth actions • Terraform, GitHub Actions Workload Identity Federation, and Cloud Logging provide reproducible, observable delivery on Google Cloud After working with Amazon Bedrock in a previous hackathon, I enjoyed leading this exploration of how Vertex AI, Google ADK and Cloud Run can support a different approach to building agentic systems.
