Qualcomm is getting in on the Googlebook action.

Intel chips won’t be the only CPUs powering Google’s new Android-based laptops. Qualcomm also confirmed on Wednesday that it’s working on Googlebooks, but, like Intel, hasn’t given any details about the specific chips the laptops will feature:

Something special is coming this fall. In partnership with @Google, we’ve created Googlebook, a category of premium, powerful laptops built for intelligent experiences.

Gozney’s ultra-portable pizza oven is matching its Black Friday low.

The Gozney Tread, a totable pizza oven lauded by several Verge staffers, is available for $399.99 ($100 off) from Amazon, The Home Depot, and Gozney, matching its best price to date. The handle-equipped propane oven is large enough to cook a 12-inch pie and can reach up to 950 degrees Fahrenheit, which, if you’re not familiar with Neapolitan-style pizzas, is an absolute must.

Ring cameras now support 2K across the line.

The home security company launched two new products today: the Ring Spotlight Cam (2nd Gen) at $169.99 and the Ring Floodlight Cam (2nd Gen) at $199.99. Both feature Ring’s Retinal 2K video resolution, bringing higher-res support to Ring’s base models.

Increased resolution provides clearer video and better zoom capabilities and feeds richer data into Ring’s AI features, such as Search Party, AI-generated text descriptions, and search history. The cameras will be available on June 3rd.

Never change, Google.

When it announced the new Googlebook laptops yesterday, a few commenters noticed the name seemed familiar, but only one realized just how familiar.

Xiaomi 17, but make it bigger.

That’s the pitch for the 17 Max, a new phone Xiaomi is teasing on Weibo. It looks exactly like the regular Xiaomi 17, but has a 6.9-inch display — the same size as the 17 Pro Max and Ultra. That’s all we know so far, but it launches in China this month.

A good reason to wait a few weeks to buy a Nintendo Switch 2.

In early June, Nintendo will start selling “Choose Your Game” Switch 2 bundles for $499.99 that include one of three excellent games. You can choose between Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Pokémon Pokopia. It’s a savings of up to $29.99 on your first game, and a smart purchase ahead of the console’s planned price increase in September.

The 8,278-piece Minas Tirith is Lego’s largest Lord of the Rings set.

Available starting on June 1st for Lego Insiders or June 4th for everyone else, Lego’s $650 Minas Tirith is larger and more expensive than its $500 Rivendell and $460 Barad-dûr LOTR sets. Up front it’s a micro-scale recreation of the fortified city but on the back you’ll find scenes scaled up for the set’s 10 included minifigures.

GuliKit’s TMR joysticks for the Switch 2 let you get ahead of drift issues.

The Switch 2’s Joy-Cons use the same joystick tech as the originals, but for $19.99 you can upgrade them to drift-resistant TMR joysticks using GuliKit’s new kit. However, while the replacement TMR sticks can be installed without any hardware modifications, opening up the Switch 2’s Joy-Cons is a fairly complicated process.

See you in Cannes.

That’s where DJI will launch the Osmo Pocket 4P on May 14th, during the annual film festival. We’d previously assumed the new dual-camera steadicam would be called the Pocket 4 Pro. The recent Pocket 4 didn’t get a US launch, but a rebranded Pocket 4P for the US may be on the way.

Anbernic’s rotating screen Android handheld is now available.

It may seem gimmicky, but according to Retro Dodo and Russ Crandall, Anbernic’s RG Rotate is an excellent handheld emulator with a unique design and more processing power than it needs. It’s now available through Anbernic’s online store for $87.99 for the black plastic version and $107.99 for the metal silver one, but both are temporarily discounted to $82.99 and $99.99, respectively.

Polyend is trying to challenge Roland’s TR-1000 for the title of the ultimate drum machine.

Like Roland’s flagship, Polyend Drums combines analog and digital drum synthesis, with samples, powerful sequencing features, and a ton of hands-on controls, including a morphing fader. It’s also expensive as hell at $2,699. But it might be the last drum machine you ever need.
