Celebrating 30 years of Infinigate the only way we know how: with food, fun, and a questionable amount of team spirit. 🕺 We started strong with breakfast and a open talk on our goals & core values; Own it, Be open & Aim high. After lunch at a delicious restaurant, we split up for activities: escape rooms (where we learned who panics under pressure), darts (where we learned who should never be trusted with sharp objects), and karaoke (where we learned… a lot). 🥴 We're so proud to be part of Infinigate Group and all that it stands for! Here's to 30 more years! 🥂 #InfinigateBelgium #30Years #Team

🔐 It’s World Password Day. But passwords are just one step towards protecting your systems and data. World Password Day promotes better password habits, such as strong, unique passwords and multi-factor authentication (MFA) to protect digital identities. Passwords are just one aspect of the wider cyber-resilience posture business must adopt to protect its assets. As identity-based attacks continue to rise, credentials alone are no longer a reliable first line of defence. From social engineering to MFA bypass techniques, attackers are becoming faster, more targeted, and increasingly sophisticated. In our latest blog, Dean Watson, Lead Solutions Expert for Secure Networking at Infinigate UK & Ireland, explores: ➡️ How identity-based attacks are evolving – and why they’re so effective ➡️ The growing role of social engineering in compromising organisational IT systems ➡️ Why Identity and Access Management (IAM) requires a strategic rethink ➡️ The emerging IAM managed services opportunity for the channel For IT channel partners, the increase in identity-driven threats, combined with limited companies’ in-house expertise, creates a clear opportunity to help customers move towards more intelligent, risk-based, and resilient identity strategies. Read the full blog to discover how IAM can become your next strategic managed service offering 👉 https://lnkd.in/ettP9cxM #Cybersecurity #WorldPasswordDay #IAM #MFA

  • ⚙️ Enterprise IT is shifting from tool sprawl to true platformisation. This is not about adding more features. It is about rethinking how systems are built, managed and secured. Cato Networks’ latest blog explores what real platformisation changes: ⚡ Faster, simpler deployment: no need to stitch multiple tools together, just one converged system 🔄 Continuous evolution: updates and new capabilities can be rolled out across the entire environment 🧩 Seamless expansion: no additional integrations required, with teams able to activate what they need 🧠 Operational clarity: one control plane, consistent policies and shared visibility Much of today’s complexity — and many security gaps — stem from the seams between systems. Platformisation removes those seams. With fewer tools to manage, teams can focus on a single system rather than juggling many. That is how organisations reduce friction, move faster and maintain security in increasingly complex environments. • 🔐 As we head into May, we’re looking back at the biggest cybersecurity stories that made headlines in April. 1️⃣ European Commission cloud breach A cyberattack targeted the European Commission’s cloud infrastructure supporting the Europa.eu platform. While internal systems were not affected, attackers reportedly exfiltrated data from public-facing services, and investigations into the scale of the exposure are ongoing. 2️⃣ Sweden thwarts destructive cyberattack on thermal power plant Swedish authorities confirmed they had disrupted a destructive cyberattack targeting a thermal power plant, which has been attributed to pro-Russian hacking activity. Officials warned that the incident reflects increasingly reckless targeting of European energy infrastructure. 3️⃣ UK cyber authority warns of ‘hacktivist attacks at scale’ The UK’s National Cyber Security Centre warned that geopolitical tensions could trigger large-scale hacktivist campaigns against UK organisations, with effects comparable to the ransomware-related disruption already seen across retail, transport and infrastructure. 💬 What was the most important cyber story for you this month? Let us know in the poll below. 👇

  • 🌍 Cyber threats targeting public utilities keep the sector firmly in the crosshairs. As of March 2026, year-on-year trends show that public utilities have experienced a 3% increase in cyber attacks. New research from Check Point Software highlights several key trends affecting the sector: 📊 Attack volumes remain persistently high, maintaining pressure on critical infrastructure operators 💸 Ransomware activity is rising again month on month, with attackers targeting sectors where downtime can have an immediate societal impact ⚡ Energy and utilities remain firmly within the ransomware threat landscape, as threat actors look to exploit operational disruption for leverage For public utilities, even small increases in attack volume can have significant consequences. As digital transformation accelerates, attackers are becoming more targeted, exploiting vulnerabilities across increasingly complex and interconnected systems. • 🌐 Application security is reaching a breaking point, as a growing gap emerges between how modern web applications operate and how they are being secured. According to Fortinet’s 2026 Web Application Security Report, based on insights from more than 800 security professionals, confidence in application security is worryingly low: ⚠️ Just 29% feel confident in their overall application security posture 🤖 Confidence falls to 15% for AI-integrated applications ⚡ Only 12% feel prepared to defend against AI-driven attacks Modern applications and APIs are becoming increasingly AI-driven, while many security controls remain static, fragmented and designed for a very different era.
