About

Reinhard Zach

I’ve built web applications and systems for healthcare and enterprise software, working across frontend, backend, databases, and deployment. I’ve also led a team of six engineers while staying involved in the code and the day-to-day challenges of keeping software running reliably.

I like figuring out what people need from a product and working with a team to build it. That means shaping the architecture, writing and reviewing code, helping other engineers, and using AI where it makes the product more useful. I aim for software that’s useful to the people using it and straightforward for the team to maintain.

AI projects you can try

Additional technical range

Building monitoring gateway and research paper

Built a Java-based Raspberry Pi data gateway for university research, integrating wireless sensor streams, local Derby persistence during connection loss, and reliable forwarding to a remote monitoring service. I validated it with more than 100,000 measurements, first-authored the resulting conference paper, and presented the work at ECPPM 2014 in Vienna.

Robotics platform projects

In my spare time, I explore robotics platform engineering through public prototypes covering fleet operations, telemetry health, reconnect recovery, ROS 2, and simulation. This work is separate from my professional production experience.

Crowdsourced usability testing engine prototype

Built a 2nd-place company hackathon prototype for a usability-testing engine that sent microtasks to Amazon Mechanical Turk, exploring how crowd workflows could produce fast product feedback.
