Feathr Oy (“Feathr”) values the privacy and trust of the users and visitors (the “Users”) of Feathr.com (the”Website”). This Privacy Policy applies to all of the products, services, and Websites offered by Feathr, and describes the use, collection and disclosure of User information collected on the Website.

Feathr Privacy Policy applies only to Websites and services that are owned and operated by Feathr. Other Websites that may be displayed as links from within Feathr Website are owned and operated by others, and they may have different privacy policies.

What type of information does Feathr collect?

Personally Identifiable Information. Feathr collects Personal Information that Users provide to us, such as name, mailing address, phone number, email address, credit card number, and financial information (“Personal Information”).

Personal information is data that can be used to identify or contact you.

Under the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) personal data is defined as: “any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (‘data subject’); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person”.

If we do collect personal data, we will nevertheless never collect sensitive personal data about you. Non-Personal Information. Feathr collects non-personal information from Users, such as IP address, browser type and operating system (“Non-Personal Information”). Feathr uses Non-Personal Information to improve our services and the Website.

How and when Feathr collects information?

Feathr collects Personal Information from the Users at several different points on the Website:

Information collected on Registration

Certain features such as posting comments, receiving email notifications, participating in the blog discussions, submitting designs and purchasing products, require registration. Upon registration you will need to create a user name and password and provide your email address. You can also submit your location information so we can provide you a more personalized experience of the Website. You are not anonymous to us when you register with Feathr Website and sign in to our services.

Information collected on Purchases

If you order a product or service from us, you are asked to submit certain personally identifiable information via our order form, such as contact information and financial information. Feathr uses this information for billing your order and to fill your order. We also use this information to inform you about the status of the delivery and to contact you if there are problems with filling the order.

When purchasing, rest assure that your payments are secure. Feathr does not collect your payment data but only payment identifiers. All of your bank details are collected only by our payment service providers that are all certified for their security standards.

Information collected on Submitting Designs

If you submit a design to Feathr, you are asked to register and submit certain personally identifiable information. You also have an option to provide personally identifiable information that becomes publicly available in your profile (such as links to your social media accounts). You may share this information at your own will, but please note that other users or companies may use this information to contact you and Feathr can’t be held responsible for this. You may remove and edit information on your profile at any time.

Information collected on earning payments from Feathr

If you receive royalty or prize payments from Feathr we are required by Finnish Tax Administration to collect the following information from you: your name, date of birth, your personal identification number or tax identification number and your address in your country of residence. Information collected will be submitted to the Finnish Tax Authorities together with the information on the amount of royalty or prize payments and, if applicable, the amount of tax withheld at source. This information is used solely to fulfill the Finnish Tax Authorities’ requirements and will not be used in any other manner.

Your Choice to Opt-out

Users can choose to ‘opt-out’ of having your Personal information used for marketing purposes. For example, you can indicate on our registration form if you do not wish to receive any additional marketing material from Feathr. You may opt-out of receiving newsletters and promotional emails from Feathr by following the instructions included in each newsletter or by contacting us at .

You can use Feathr email referral service to tell your friend about the Website and products. Your friend’s email address is stored  only for sending an one-time email and tracking the success of this referral program. Your friend can send us an email at to ask that we remove the email address from our database.

Feathr automatically collects other Non-Personal information on our server logs from your browser even if you do not sign up to Feathr, for example, your IP address, operating system and browser type. This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns and helps us to provide you with an optimized Website experience. This information is not used to identify any individual.

How does Feathr share and disclose information?

Feathr is the sole owner of the information received and recorded on Feathr.com. Feathr does not share, rent or trade your Personal Information with third parties for their promotional purposes. Feathr shares Personal Information with third parties to provide products or services you have requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:

Disclosure to Successors. In the event Feathr goes through a business transition, such as a merger or acquisition by or with another company, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your Personal Information will likely be among the assets transferred. You will be notified via email or by a notice on our Website of any such change in ownership or control of your Personal Information.

Disclosure to Third Party Service Providers and Online Partners. We use third parties such as production subcontractors and shipping companies to fulfill and deliver orders, payment service provider to process transactions, and an email service provider to send out emails on our behalf. When you make a purchase on our website or sign up for our email list, we will share the amount of Personal Information that is necessary for the third party to provide that service. These third parties are prohibited from using your personally identifiable information for any other purpose. Each of our service providers have been selected by us for their ability to provide the particular services needed, including their ability to handle your personal information. We work with PayPal, Stripe and Splitit to offer our customers more convenient methods of payment. PayPal and Stripe enable you to send payments quickly and securely online using a credit card. Disclosure to Unaffiliated Third Parties. We may disclose your Personal Information if we believe it is necessary in order to prevent an emergency or harm to others, investigate and take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, violations of Feathr’s Terms of Use, or as otherwise required by law. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction. In particular, if you have submitted a design to Feathr.com, we may disclose your information to a third party that alleges that you have infringed their intellectual property rights. Similarly, if you allege that a design on Feathr.com is infringing upon your intellectual property rights, we may disclose your information to the owner of that Design.

Any comments and personal information you voluntarily publish on the Website, for example on comment sections, on your profile page, or on the blog, becomes publicly available and is not considered Personal Information subject to this Privacy Policy. Your messages and other information you make available in public areas of the Website will be seen by people and organizations not related to or controlled by Feathr and may be used by others to contact you. How does Feathr use Cookies?

A cookie is a small file that is placed on a user’s computer for record-keeping purposes.  If you reject cookies, you may still use our site, but you may have a limited ability to use some features of the Website.  Some cookies come directly from the website or application you are browsing and others come from third parties which place cookies. Feathr will use all reasonable efforts to protect your personal information. We are using the latest industry standards and security measures such SSL/TLS encryption for protection of user data and personal information. This means that when you enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number) on our registration or order forms, that information is encrypted by using secure socket layer technology (SSL).

We will hold your personal data for as long as you are you have an account and for as long as is necessary to comply with our legal/ regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse or enforce our terms and conditions.

When we no longer need to retain your personal data, it will be deleted or be anonymised so that you can no longer be identified from it.

Transfers of your information outside the European Economic Area

Where a third-party provider is located outside the European Economic Area, we will always ensure that the transfer of personal data will be protected by appropriate safeguards, namely the use of standard data protection clauses adopted or approved by the European Commission where the data protection authority does not believe that the third country has adequate data protection laws or with companies that are Privacy Shield Certified.

As a customer of Feathr, you have rights with regards to how we use and hold your information. This includes:

–          The right to change or rectify the personal information that we hold about you (if you have an online account you can do so on your account profile page).

Where you request access to your information, we are required to use all reasonable measures to verify your identity before doing so. These measures only exist to protect your information and to reduce risk of identity fraud, theft or unauthorized access to your information.
