I have been longing for a rain forest trip since my last visit last year. This time, I went with my brother to a national reserve park of Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FIRIM) 16km northwest of Kuala Lumpur. We did not have much time to explore everything so we went straight to the stream (open to public) and surrounding area and spent several hours there photographing. Between me and my brother, we collectively taken more than 500 photos!! There are so many different species within just a small area! We are both very interested in wild mosses, plants, snails, shrimps, insects, fungi, mushrooms...everything! Unfortunately, like the Mangrove swamp trip, once under the thick canopy, lighting becomes a problem for photography. I tried my best to photograph in the wet and humid jungle, risking bloodsucking mosquitos & leeches attack! Below are some selected photos taken that day, some belongs to my brother who uses Canon S3. |
