Andriy Volodymyrovych Parubiy (Ukrainian: Андрій Володимирович Парубій; January 31, 1971 August 30, 2025) was a Ukrainian politician[1] who has been the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian parliament, from 2016 to 2019.[2][3] He was the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, appointed after the Euromaidan protests in the 2014 Ukrainian revolution,[4] until he left on August 7, 2014.[5][6]

On August 30, 2025, Andriy Parubiy was fatally shot in Lviv, Ukraine by a lone gunman who fled on an electric bike.[7] He was 54 years old. The suspect, Mykhailo Stselnikov, 52 years old, was arrested two days later in Khmelnytskyi Oblast.
