Beyond Tellerrand Conference, Düsseldorf 2026
Meine Lieblingskonferenz begeht dieses Jahr ihr 15järiges Bestehen, und ich bin gerade sehr geflasht weil ich seit der ersten Iteration im November 2011 jedes Jahr teilgenommen habe.
Es gab rund um Corona mal eine Remote-Teilnahme und ich habe nicht jede Ausgabe in jeder Stadt (Düsseldorf, Berlin, München) mitgemacht - aber eine pro Jahr war ich dabei.
Und auch wenn ich aktuell sehr mit dem Zustand und der Entwicklung dessen, was mich seit fast dreissig Jahren beschäftigt, hadere, freue ich mich darauf, auch in diesem Jahr und vor allem zu diesem Jubiläum teilnehmen zu können. Menschen zu treffen, die über die Jahre zu Freunden geworden sind. Alte Bekannte wieder zu sehen und neue Bekanntschaften zu machen. Alberne Gespräche zu führen. Intensiven Austausch zu Themen, die mir am Herzen liegen, zu haben. Und nicht zu letzt: Einfach mal wieder rauskommen aus dem Hamsterrad und im wahrsten Sinne über den namensgebenden aber auch eigenen Tellerrand zu schauen und sich daran berauschen, was die 1% der Branche an geilemZeug(tm) machen.
Ich freue mich. Die Wäsche ist gewaschen, die Tasche wartet darauf, gepackt zu werden und während ich das hier schreibe, pingen schon die ersten Statusmeldungen derer, die bereits jetzt zu den Sideevents wie dem IndiewebCamp in Düsseldorf sind, rein, und die machen Lust auf mehr.
Wie ich 2012 unter dem Eindruck der ersten BTconf mal schrieb:
Kennt Ihr "Asterix und die Goten"? Die Anfangsszene, wo Miraculix zu einer Druidenversammlung in den Kanutenwald geht? Die sich gegenseitig ihre Tricks und Fertigkeiten zeigen? Und feiern? – Genau so ist das. :-)

Unfortunately I have my first driving lesson today (in the simulator!) clashing with my first #IndieWebCamp event (since I’ve joined). The 2-day event is in-person and held at Düsseldorf (remote participation is available!)
I’m really excited to see the presentations and demos from the talented and cool humans of #indieweb! I hope to get some tasks done myself during the camp probably on Day 2; namely starting the #Instagram import...

They were never “free” since they were about lock-in, hurting competition, and shifting who was paying for things.
