Ten weeks. Nine interns. One memorable summer. Across our global offices, our interns spent the summer working on projects built for production, exploring new ideas, and learning alongside their mentors and teams. From training sessions to showcase presentations, and from everyday collaboration to time together outside the office, there was plenty to take away. Eight interns earned return offers, and seven have accepted. We look forward to seeing what we'll build together next. Thank you to our interns for the curiosity, dedication, and diverse perspectives they brought to AXQ, and to the mentors and colleagues who supported their growth along the way. Here's a look back at our summer, by the numbers.

We are honored to renew our support of Baruch College's MFE program. Thank you to Professor Stefanica and the entire Baruch team for building a community that has meant so much to AXQ!
What began as a one-time personal gift from a grateful alumnus has grown into a multi-year institutional partnership. AXQ Capital has made a renewed commitment to Baruch College's Master of Financial Engineering (MFE) program at the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences, extending through 2028 the fund, first established in 2019 by AXQ founder Yu Gan and his spouse, Boxiao Zheng. The original gift, awarded in 2019, supported the directorship of the MFE program, a position held by Dan Stefanica, PhD, since 2021. Among his many achievements, Professor Stefanica has grown the program’s exceptional faculty, prioritized alumni mentorship, and updated its admissions and curriculum. Most recently, the program has adopted large language models (LLMs) to support cutting-edge training in AI coding. Since the gift was established, the Baruch MFE Program achieved a remarkable upward trajectory, with compensation for the graduates increasing by 64 percent and outstanding dominance in academic trading competitions. Stefanica has also led the program through an unprecedented streak of chart-topping accolades. In 2026, for the third consecutive year, the program was ranked No. 1 in the world by the leading business publication Risk.net. This year, QuantNet named the program the best in the nation for its career metrics based on students’ compensation and job placements, either before or shortly after graduation. Over the past nine years, Baruch’s MFE program continues to maintain a 100 percent employment rate at graduation, with the world’s leading financial firms recruiting the entire student body for full-time roles and internships. Graduates also earn the highest average starting salary, at $178,824, and an average first-year compensation of $244,000. “This renewed commitment from AXQ Capital demonstrates the real-world value of the Baruch MFE program. Likewise, the program’s continued excellence relies on meaningful connections with industry practitioners, said Nukhet A. Sandal, PhD, dean of the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences. “We are grateful for Yu Gan and Boxiao Zheng’s ongoing investment in Professor Stefanica’s directorship, which will continue to provide the stability necessary to train our students in the latest quantitative methods and sustain our outstanding track record of total employment at graduation.”

Most days, the AXQ team comes together around our work. Every so often, we make time to step away from the office and share something exceptional. On Sunday, the World Cup Final came to our local venue—New York New Jersey Stadium. We were fortunate to take in a thrilling match amid an electric atmosphere. Great teams win together.
