This version produced for free distribution through schools. A slightly different version of the comic was sold through comic shops, see The New Teen Titans [DC Comics] (DC, 1983 series). Starfire wears a slightly modified costume.
Though the 1984 Library of Congress copyright records (cocatalog.loc.gov) give a publication date for this of 1983-03-29, this was not distributed until the fall of 1983.
